    The Euro did the same thing in other years- I remember particularly this specifically in 2015. Had snow often in the long range, took it away in the medium, and brought it back in the short range.

    I totally agree. They are typically playing catch up, but that tends to be mostly during coastal when we have banding set up. However, they were bullish in January and it generally worked out.

    The 00z runs this winter have been awful and a constant step back. How many times this winter has Bob woken up to winter being over Every morning it’s the same. Groundhog Day.

    I was on shots for many years which helped immensely for some allergens. I still have to use Allegra most days.

    Why? Because the rest of the winter has been so exciting? I don’t mind March because we typically get some surprise snows. It’s our last shot at winter and then we can warm up to Spring.

    The euro had clipper next week. Similar to the Feb 1 thing I thought you were out? Is it next winter already?

    I actually had hopes for a blockbuster winter after so many great forecasts for a - NAO, modalities El Niño, etc, but I still try to stay optimistic. I also feel that winter isn’t over... and I would love a good coastal. I never give up hope until April. I really love this forum. It helps for a great winter season, even if we don’t have a lot of snow.

    Always expecting a ‘96 or ‘10 winter around here is unrealistic and being pessimistic just brings everyone down. Your optimism is much appreciated. I’m hopeful for a couple of more events into the beginning of March. Maybe next week ??

    I’m curious if we still get a deluge tonight, dry slot, or just light rain. Does anyone have any updated information?

    It’s really exactly what we expected, but maybe a bit more snow on some areas. I got about 3-4” before the sleet and freezing rain took over. Most people got a snow day, so it’s a nice mid-week event after winter was canceled.

    Big flakes finally in Fairfax. We had pixie dust for quite a while.

    It would be helpful for all if you could post locations on your observations. Thank you! Around 2” so far in Fairfax and snowing moderately. Fairly small flakes though.
