Both the GRAF and HRRR show some sort of back building as our fetch becomes more Atlantic of origin late this evening. Thinking heavy snow arriving soon - boom until 9 ish - light stuff for an hour or two and a very brief boom before the curtain call.
HRRR is most closely matching up to real time radar trends. Take a look at the radar for western NC, the HRRR sniffed out the virga storm first for this region.
Ceiling has lowered quite a bit. I’m hoping this is an early indication that we’re in for a fun day because this all looks like upslope enhancement to me. As much as that soaks us most storms, I think we deserve it for this one!
