  1. Maybe he measures with an upside down ruler too....
  2. no he's a miserable energy sucker who just wants everyone else to be as miserable as he is. I'll get paid for my psychoanalysis later I'm sure
  3. they're big in Europe, my friends from there introduced me to them last year. They aren't mainstream so aren't well known here. No idea how they got the Super Bowl gig lol. By the way how much snow did you get? This was my favorite event of the season so far, sun rise to sun set pure fluff!
  4. this was my ideal snowstorm! sunrise to sunset and really photogenic!
  5. wow that model doesn't have any changeover until south of Toms River and 6-12 here with the storm ending Friday afternoon, a 24 hr storm
  6. are temps in the 20s throughout the event? If so even the mixing would stick, we haven't had a big snow to ice event here since 2007
  7. does this sort of remind you of March 2018 I think it was with the frequency of storms?
  8. and a watch can either go to an advisory or to a warning, there was no "burning" here.
  9. lol I have a feeling this is going to be one strange storm do you have this horrible wind tonight too, Ed? I'm shivering ...I can feel the cold wind inside my house!
  10. I wonder if a more accurate comparison can be made with liquid equivalencies since snowfall measuring methods seem to be so unscientific because everyone does it their own way. For example, I find Jan 2016 3.00" liquid equivalency all snow to be unmatched for a 100% snowstorm. May not see that again in southwestern Nassau in my lifetime.
  11. oh I wondered what happened to Bob Harris! He was on WPIX for a long time. What about Storm Field and Lloyd Lindsay Young?
  12. the stuff that got shoveled is down to black top again but I suspect the Sunday storm will be a nice refresher. Storms like that have become rare so it'll be nice to see one like that.
  13. it looks like some images I've seen from Feb 1978- fairly comparable?
  14. yeah he's been shady lately....I also remember last year he said that the city had snow in late May back in the 60s which was in fact a hail event
  15. you missed it?! looks like really high drifts over there, how much do you think fell there in this storm? JFK 25" even though it mixed with rain and sleet
  16. record number of consecutive highs in the 20s too
  17. Imagine being up in a building like that during Sandy
