  1. was that 2017 when JFK had like 42 75+ dew point days?
  2. ah the nights are amazing when that happens! so nice and cool and so many stars to see and no yucky haze!
  3. Remember August 1995 with all the wild fires? I think we didn't have any precip at all that month until the very last day.....I wish it had waited for one more day (and it almost did, we got it in the hours before September started!) With all that tropical activity in 1995 and most of it turned right before reaching us.
  4. what caused that warming and how long do you think it'll last? The low high for Spring 1968 really stands out!
  5. would be nice to be in NW flow to keep the humidity in check!
  6. Yes and looks like after a few days of work it will be off again for the weekend.
  7. low humidity at 90 or even 100 is AMAZING. it's the humidity that kills us not the temp. Give me some 100 degree temps with 20% humidity.....
  8. question is.....will it be more like 1995 or 2005 or 2012..........? Three different hyperactive years and three different storm patterns. Considering the similarity to winter 2011-12, the two named storms in May, which also matches 2012, I would say that 2012 is a closer match than the other two seasons.
  9. only low 80s here but high humidity my first use of the AC this year
  10. I hate how so many mets are botching the pronunciation of the storm- it shouldn't rhyme with "noble"- it's a Spanish name and should be pronounced that way.
  11. I'll never forget that fire I saw near I-80 in the Delaware Water Gap, in February! Sign of things to come? The other thing is the two tropical storms in May, haven't seen that since 2012 and that was only the third time that happened. As we all know, Sandy happened in 2012.
  12. Yeah, seems like a pattern for the summer. Lots of humidity, not much heat for us.
  13. Burlington topped out at 95 degrees! It was 93 in the Poconos where I was. How is all this heat escaping locations further south like us? Weird to have heat coming in from the north!
  14. Yes 1944 was one of our 11 yr cycle hot years, it really stands out compared to the other summers in that decade. 1977 was also part of the 11 yr cycle but its extreme heat was brief. possibly because of the second year el nino? Still got us to 104 degrees!
  15. How is it so warm so far north and yet not here? Burlington hit 95, an all time monthly record
  16. I have big wolf spiders and large ants coming inside do they love the humid weather for some reason? RAID doesn't seem to affect them much.
  17. but extremely humid....one particularly humid day sticks out to me, it was overcast and 80 degrees with 100% humidity.....ugh..... give me 2010 dry heat over that any day, month or year lol.
  18. So not a 1966-67 or 2009-10-11 repeat? :-(
  19. wow quite the legendary period! JFK hit 104, EWR hit 105 and LGA hit 107! Looks like NYC was the coolest at 103 at the peak of the heat How did NYC ever hit 106 in July 1936 during the peak of the dust bowl? I wonder how hot JFK, LGA and EWR would have been on that day had they existed? Maybe one or more of them would have been hotter than EWR's July 2011 record of 108?
  20. yes it was the high for the entire year lol- three 90 degree days that entire year and two of them were in May and one day at the end of August when it barely hit 90.
  21. historic, a near match for 1976....and some of the bluest skies I've ever seen
  22. I would have loved the lower humidity, warm or cool....I still remember my first viewing of the Perseids in August 1986, no haze and 50 degree lows! That kind of visibility was never matched again......
