  1. Wow thats weird so few 90 degree days-- we've had more 90 degree days than that here on the south shore of Long Island Also, high temperatures get muted with more cloud cover and higher humidity unfortunately-- I love very hot 100+ dry days...
  2. Not new normal, but we're going to see a lot more winters like this-- boom or bust is the new norm, which means fewer average winters and much more nothing or everything winters.
  3. February 1989 type storm but farther east?
  4. that could easily be dry and cold, and sunny, that's a lot better than snow changing to rain which I dislike above all else

  6. Don't need snow to be interested in the weather though.
  7. There is very loud construction happening on my block for the last two mornings yuck
  8. a half inch is meaningless, we want the record and I'm a snowfall purist GIVE ME ALL SNOW OR GIVE ME NOTHING
  9. We have a chance at this futility record.
  10. Especially with that amazing green comet coming after 75,000 years!
  11. Asia is 10x the continent that puny North America is.
  12. I'd like to find out if other parts of the world experience an issue similar to the "WAR" or is it that we are geographically unluckly? I don't see a big western Pacific ridge mentioned with regards to snowfall in northern Japan for example-- so maybe this is just an issue for us?
  13. Lee Goldberg thinks it might happen.... Are you watching Ch 7? In the last update he said to expect the pattern to change after Jan 20, and we get colder and get snowier with clippers headed our way. At this point I'm sick and tired of coastals raining so clippers are fine by me.
  14. There was a time when a parade of storms into the west went straight east and produced a lot of snow for us.
  15. 97-98 notwithstanding, 01-02 will always be my GOAT of snowless seasons.
  16. I thought 14-15 was better but that's because it was colder and the storms were all snow.
  17. That shows that our climate this year is more like Atlanta than it is New York.
  18. We need the Bermuda Triangle to make the Bermuda High disappear.....
  19. Wild to see 1918-19 like that when 1916-17 and 1917-18 were historically cold and snowy (our only back to back 60"+ snowfall seasons, I think?)
  20. I think 2010-11 had a better chance since it had 2 HECS
  21. I dont think people here will be impressed until we get another Krakatoa or Tambora lol Krakatoa = Boxing Day Blizzard Tambora = January 1996 / January 2016
  22. I remember-- that was supposed to be rain lol
  23. I love it-- it has a poetic quality to it!
