It didn't start to snow here until after 2 am....and never accumulated on the roads or driveways. More of that car topper roof topping stuff. Every snowfall this season has been a coating, this ranks behind the late February and late December coatings but ahead of the January coating.
These are all coatings lol. I rank this behind the February 28th coating and even behind the December coating, but ahead of the January coating. So less than half an inch but more than 0.2. Going with 0.3
Yes and the funny thing is Manhattan should have had more than Brooklyn or most of Long Island since Manhattan changed from rain to snow first. This was a rainer in Boston and the high snowfall totals did not make it to eastern Long Island. The north shore of western Suffolk County had 38" though and Northern Queens had 36" so I would expect Manhattan also had over 30"
Coney Island area had 26" so it was definitely more than that.
I remember you had one in February 2009 too, do you remember that one? 8 inches of snow in Central and South NJ!
They usually miss us, but weirdly are better both south and north of here lol
So it's been a long time then....the last time I asked someone said 1996 lol.
In 2015 we came close though, it was in the single digits on the last day of February wasn't it, Don?
Getting to single digits is historic for March and that almost happened in 2015 and I believe the last time it happened was 1996? Whar an amazing long lived winter that was.
I think it also almost happened in 2003, another very long lived winter.
Exactly as I remember them-- the first event favored areas away from the south shore and the second event, which was supposed to be better, ended up being a disappointment because a lot of it was eaten up by virga and ended early.
