People have no problem saying that Riverhead is part of the Metro but Orange County might as well be Buffalo.

It really needs to be under 30 for that.

That was always going to be the case but people were throwing the towel in at 1pm. I got mocked for saying that we would be getting a decent amount of ice after 18z. I just wish that when people are missing out on a storm that they didn’t try to downplay it or belittle it for others that are being affected. This forum is a lot bigger than the immediate coast.

Decent low and mid level frontogenesis aided by the weak low off the NJ coast is causing the precip over Southern and Eastern PA and Central NJ to fill in. Could be a really messy evening commute ahead.

Radar is really firing up over E PA and Central NJ now. Going to be some good bump trolling later.

Stay off the Palisades Parkway in Rockland. Multiple accidents. Very slick per social media.

Pretty much everything that falls here on out will accumulate. The Euro and HRRR says that Rockland still gets 0.20-0.30" liquid over the next 6 hours. That's going to build up fast especially considering the light intensity.

What a difference it makes being under 30 degrees. Literally everything here is now coated in ice.

Finally broke the mark and hit 29 degrees here. Thought I was going to be in the 20's about three hours ago.

The official forecast calls for freezing rain and sleet to linger into the evening. If they had closed schools at say noon and the temperatures were a degree or two colder it would have been a big mistake.
