Coming right at me… .
-
I know we have flipped the page from yesterday but thought I’d drop this YouTube video showing what happened yesterday that the mods didn’t pick up on with the severe weather. FYI this guy has lots of videos and he does a outstanding job. .
-
33db’s coming down 75 .
-
Gatlinburg sky cam… .
-
That’s what I was hoping for. .
-
One more thing…. There’s been times when NW flow was so stout off the lakes that the moisture would bank up against the mountains and then back up into the valley. Not saying that will happen this time but the radar trends have expanded the up slope back NW to cover more of Blount and Sevier Co. *yes, I’m wishful thinking* .
-
Not that I believe the mods are wrong and the valley is going to get a bunch of snow but it is encouraging that on radar these bursts of snow are not getting downsloped when they move into the valley. Or at a minimum they are somewhat holding together. .

Just followed you. I’m DW .

New Found Gap .

This is déjà vu… don’t you go up there every year and it seems like a few years ago you got 4-6” in a NW flow? .
-
For my sake I hope this is the streamer set up, I’m in a good spot. Puking it right now. .
-
Man these streamers mean business coming through Knox Co. almost white out conditions with 15mph winds. Unfortunately they only last for 10 minutes. .
-
Enjoy, send us some pictures [emoji23] .
-
Interesting tweet from MRX… this feed looks like it’s on the Knox, Jefferson to Sevier Co lines. .
-
That’s what stinks with these streamers is one might be 5 miles wide but there’s 10 miles between it and the next one. .
-
Won’t be surprised if MRX is having to scramble in the 11th hour for counties that border Ky and Virginia. Maybe even on the plateau down towards the southern Valley. .
-
Haven’t been able to post since the storms but I must say that was one of the most intense squall line I’ve seen in a long time. There’s trees down everywhere in Knox Co. One thing you don’t see very often is a squall line that intensified after it came off the plateau. .

TYS just gusted to 69mph .

The lightning is incredible here. Pea size hail for about 30 seconds. The line is still 45 min away .
-
Kinda weird how MRX doesn’t even like the plateau in this setup. Saying in their MFD, that the plateau will likely change back to rain Friday morning.
-
It’s awful sunny this morning in Knoxville. Several tornado warnings this morning to our SW. .
-
Yes perfect. That streamer up in NE Tennessee is a good direction for me. Or I should say it’s a better flow that the alternative because NW flow is never good in the valley unless there’s a wave to work with. .
-
Can we get an idea yet on wind direction? Does this look like a typical NW wind direction? I’m not in a good location for NW flow but a little more NNW helps me. I basically need my feed coming from the middle of Campbell Co. if it’s more from Scott Co I’m screwed. .
