    We look colder at 850 and 925 mb on the 12z GFS. Certainly better.

    We've only had 1 week of winter this year. It's been a real snoozefest and these big predictions of above average snow are in real danger.

    I think the writing is on the wall for this winter unfortunately. We got until the end of the month to score a climo snowfall then it's over.

    Was speaking with @wxmvpete last night about NBM beyond D3 for rainfall, it tends to run too low for a couple of reasons (CAMS not in range yet, resolution issues). I wonder if some of this holds true in the winter?

    No. I worked for Montgomery County, but lived in York County, PA. We worked the event and were surprised at the disparity of the snow reports. Damascus reported M21.5", but Takoma Park had M12".

    IMO, both the 2007 and 2014 Valentine's Day storms were decent. We could've been 35 and rain the entire time, but we got frozen.

    One day erases practically any negative departure for the month. This month nearly perfectly encapsulates climate change. The warms get warmer.
