BWI and DCA both record an inch. The streak is over!

A great way to overcome that is look at the ASOS stations in WV. So long as they have visibility under 7 miles there's still snow coming our way.

Nashville, TN is 3" - 4" over their forecast amount. Always good to see things booming upstream.

Latest SPC mesoanalysis has some decent 850 frontogenesis forming to our SW in W. Virginia. Should see a nice uptick in snow later this evening.

Cold ground will do that 9.9/10 times. This isn't some event where it was 50 and sunny yesterday and we're waiting on rates to cool everything off.

Clarksville mesonet site reporting a snow depth of M0.4".

I prefer a model that is too slow on eroding cold air damming. For Example, if it shows you're above freezing by 12:00 pm and we know it has a cold bias, then it boosts confidence that things will clear up in the afternoon.

Only mesonet site in the state with ground temps above freezing is Clarksville, which is at 34 degrees. When the snow starts later today in earnest, it will stick quick.

Radar says no snow but I've had pixie dust since about 9am. Nice solid dusting on everything.

No. I've just seen this before. Models juice up last minute and LWX has to play catch up for the northwest crew. We have a front, fresh air mass, and a low riding along it. Classic 4th quarter snow win.
