  1. I’ve been working out in East Otto not far from Ellicottville the last 2 weeks at 2000’ in elevation. The color change is awesome there. Up at 2000 feet the trees are already past peak and half bare.
  2. Yep this organization has become okay with losing over the years and while you can tell Eichel hates losing when he throws his stick or his helmet in the locker room after a game you don’t see him coming forward as a leader and saying heres what we’re gonna do about it to his teammates. Josh Allen on the other hand is not only a great player but a great leader and makes everyone want to play their hardest 100% of the time on the field and that’s worth almost as much as the on the field talent sometimes.
  3. We don’t know if he’s a good GM. It’s his first time as a GM. I like the moves he’s made with Staal and Hall but it’s still far too early to say if they’re turning it all around. I like coach Kruger a lot and the guys seem to like to play for him so that’s a good start but I think if they under achieve again this season things are going to start to unravel pretty quickly as I could see Eichel wanting out and Hall not resigning. Staal is also only a 1 year contact so he could be gone after this year as well especially given his age. They need a goalie badly but it seems that ship has sailed already for the free agent market. At this point I would use more Ullmark then Hutton but I think that’s going to be the Achilles heel on the team this year. Also need to get Dahlin playing more minutes and with more confidence because his talent is beginning to go to waste if they continue to play Risto with more minutes per game then him.
  4. I mean he chose Buffalo which still bewilders me. Probably has to do with $, being only a one year contract he can get out after this year if it goes as it’s gone the last 10 seasons, he can boost his stats playing on the wing with Eichel as his center (ala Skinner 2 years ago) and then beat feet to a better team with a long term deal. He also said he really liked his time with Kruger in Edmonton even though it was in the shortened lockout season. Top 2 lines are stacked now but our bottom 6 are pretty average to below average. With 7 defensemen ton the team they really should look at trading Ristolinen for a bottom 6 forward.
  5. Won’t make a difference. Sabres are a total mess. Only a 1 year contact and he’ll surely be gone after the Sabres miss playoffs for the 11th straight season.
  6. I don’t think you can use KBUF numbers with how their sensor was way hot for quite some time. I bet it’s one of the warmest years on record but I would question that we’re nearly 2 degrees above it at this point.
  7. 2.3” on my station in Eggertsville. Rain is coming down heavy once again.
  8. Because it’s the GFS at 10 days out and this is what it does all the time lol. It also shows a big cool shot and then as it gets closer it keeps pushing it further and further back and makes it look less and less impressive each run.
  9. Got down to 35 here. Lower than forecasted but the growing season goes on here lol.
  10. Just added to my ignore list as well. I’m willing to bet he’s the most ignored user in this board, and if not he definitely should be.
  11. I’m surprised you haven’t posted yet gyms can finally open up on Monday next week. 33% capacity and have to wear a mask the entire time.
  12. Tell your dads tenants to apply to this. They need to do it by the end of the day tomorrow though. But seems like a great program that would keep them from getting evicted and also help your dad out tremendously considering they would back pay rent all the way to March 1 https://hcr.ny.gov/RRP Here’s the program overview. . The COVID Rent Relief Program will provide eligible households with a one-time rental subsidy that will be sent directly to the household’s landlord. Applicants will not need to repay this assistance. The Covid Rent Relief Program is not first come, first served. Applications will be accepted throughout the two-week application period. HCR will prioritize eligible households with “greatest economic and social need” accounting for income, rent burden, percent of income lost and risk of homelessness. The rental assistance payment will cover the difference between the household’s rent burden on March 1, 2020 and the increase in rent burden for the months the households is applying for assistance. Households can apply for up to four months in rental assistance.
  13. What does any of that have to do with Covid? Or am I missing something?
  14. They’re known for giving false hope. They told my uncle numerous times the chemo was working and had a very very low chance back only for it to come back time and time again. I know hope is important but so is being realistic so you don’t get even more hurt god forbid something bad does happen. They also told my fiancé’s grandmother (10 years ago) that she would be good to go and kept telling her husband that everything was going great even a few days before she passed away when it clearly wasn’t.
  15. My uncle has been undergoing treatment there for almost 4 years for throat cancer. They’ve done an absolutely awful job. He’s gone chemotherapy numerous times and it’s been unsuccessful which not the part the makes them awful. What makes them awful is he then developed a condition in his jaw where the bone deteriorated due to the repeated treatments to the point he can no longer eat and has to eat through a feeding tube. He also can barely talk now. He had reconstructive facial surgery in December there to fix his jawbone by taking bone from his leg so he could eat and talk again. The doctors told him by April he would at least be eating things like cookies, crackers, ect... here it is August and he can still barely swallow water, can not eat anything what so ever, still can barely talk and when he does he’s in excruciating pain. He now wishes he never even got the surgery done as he’s in worse shape then before the surgery and now his face is all cut up and scarred. It’s crazy how many bad things I’ve heard about them from people I know and yet they’re supposedly one of the top cancer centers in the country... something doesn’t add up to me.
  16. If they don’t extend the extra federal UI benefits the economy is gonna go into a total collapse like many thought it was going to when Covid started. Like you said I’m not saying continue the extra $600 a week because that’s a lot of money and a lot of people are making more on unemployment then they were working but they need to do something or many will fall quickly into poverty. The National average UI income without the added federal benefits is only $400 a week. Not many people can live on that and have money to still pump into the economy like they can when they are getting an extra $2400+ a month. Doesn’t matter to me as i am luckily headed back to work in August but for those who aren’t as lucky losing the extra $600 a week completely will be quite devastating.
  17. I think there’s no chance NYC schools open in fall and I think there’s a slim chance WNY/Capital Region has schools open. The rest of upstate regions I think are a 50/50 toss up. Cuomo will announce his plans for reopening or not reopening certain regions for schools between August 1-7
  18. It’s really not a big deal for places to upgrade their AC systems. They can just use HEPA filters which are readily available and not that expensive. They capture particles down to .0.01 microns in size and Covid-19 particles are approx 0.125 microns in size so its highly effective at filtering out covid 19. On top of that places can easily add UV lights into their ductwork to help kill any particles that somehow make it past the hepa filter which captures 99.99% of particles. Again another thing that really isn’t that expensive to do. I do agree that it’s kind of silly that only those certain businesses are required to upgrade their HVAC systems but other places like restaurants, big box stores, grocers, ect., are not. I think if we do not see a huge long term reduction in cases across the country (where we are back under 20k cases a day nationwide, or with increased testing we drop our National positive percentage rate consistently below 5 % which is the guideline on what is recommenced before a state even considers reopening things, we will continue to have restrictions in place until a vaccine is found and distributed to enough people for it to be effective. This is all if we don’t see surges of cases again with people from states with outbreaks don’t come here and start things going significantly in the wrong direction again, or we don’t see another surge in the fall in which case I can definitely see Cuomo dialing things back again though I don’t ever think we will go full lockdown mode again like we did in March-May. Unfortunately the restrictions are something that’s not going away anytime soon as much as we all want it to, we’re in it for the long haul and we just have to adapt to this temporary new way of life.
  19. Not sure if anyone here saw it but not looking good for Bills fans wanting to see a game this season. My main thought is if this is true and a New York State law, how would that be fair that we (assuming at least some other states will follow) are not allowed to have fans but other teams are. Seems like quite the unfair advantage and have to wonder if they would have to level the playing field and ban fans across the entire league. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.syracuse.com/buffalo-bills/2020/07/no-fans-will-be-allowed-to-attend-buffalo-bills-games-during-covid.html%3foutputType=amp
  20. I’m very sorry about your Mom and hope she can be as well, happy, and comfortable as she can possibly be. As for masks being not recommended before and during the beginning of the pandemic. It has already been posted on this forum numerous times that they were discouraging masks for the general public because there was such a shortage of them that even doctors, nurses, and other first responders couldn’t get them and the suggestion that they were not necessary to the general public was to conserve what little supply was available for those workers. It has been shown in many different studies if there is a large compliance (over 50-70%) of masks being worn it greatly can reduce the spread of the virus. I really don’t see what all the fuss about wearing a mask is about in places where social distancing is not possible. It literally takes 1 second to put on and after it’s on for a few minutes it’s almost not even noticeable anymore. If it could save somebodies life isn’t it worth it? Or does it not matter because you might be saving a life for someone you don’t know so it doesn’t effect you? I don’t mean you personally by the way just talking in general lol.
  21. That positive percentage increase is what’s so concerning considering how many more test are being done. You want to see it staying the same or even dropping as the number of test increase. Florida is up to 15% positive test when at the beginning of the month they were under 5% positive, and this is with the number of test increasing too. For comparison Florida had over 10,000 positive test today out of about 50,000-60,000 test preformed. New York is doing even more test at over 70,000 test daily and only has 500-600 positives daily on average.
  22. Good now the division won’t be a cake walk. Let’s have some meaningful dueling running QB games this season. Could see some combined QB rush records with Cam and Allen going head to head. Over under at 200 yds combined Allen/Cam per matchup this season? still think we take the Division at 11-5 and Pats get into playoffs now at 10-6. Think we win our home game against them and lose in Foxborough where before I thought we sweep them.
