  1. Man what a lunch hour excursion...drove from trenton to levittown and back. On the way home, snow picked up in intensity the whole way but mainly just a coating on the grass and just starting to stick on local roads and side streets. When I left at 1230 we had just crossed the inch mark, now I'd bet easily 1.5. Also easily at least an inch in trenton as well. On the way back to work though, absolutely nuts. All roads including highways were snowcovered with heavy snow still falling. Really wasn't expecting it and honestly shocked there's no call for early dismissal. Afternoon commute is going to be straight up dangerous...
  2. already one here. crossed the 1" mark at 1230...easily up to 1.5" in levittown. Our forecast was <1 inch. Still ripping with no sleet in sight.
  3. I'm in the yellow echoes now... definitely a big increase in intensity with those and no sleet at least not yet. CC looks great too.
  4. moderate bordering on heavy snow now. picked up big time in the last 5 mins.. wind picked up as well. Awesome time to take lunch and go outside lol
  5. Snow has begun! Lightly quickly increasing in intensity though by the minute. Temp 32 DP 24. Should see a pretty nice temp drop over the next hour..
  6. looks like some virga here in trenton. Light echoes have finally moved in but nothing going on yet.
  7. absolutely, crossing my fingers the state closes early other wise my normal 15 commute home from Trenton will likely be an hour plus... Sleet is way worse on the roads than snow imo
  8. Latest CC is very encouraging sleet line sagged all the way down toward Millville and Dover. Now sleet may be mixing in above that line but it should be mostly snow or in the process of becoming snow. These heavy rates may keep things cooler than anticipated even in the mid levels.
  9. Knocking on the doorstep here in Trenton. Flurrying in Levittown according to my Fiance. Radar looks nothing short of amazing. Going to be a hard thump for a lot of folks even along 95 and across the delaware. I think an inch is almost a lock for 95 but some spots may see 3-4" depending on how long they last as snow. Latest HURRR is even colder than previously and hangs on to the frozen precip until 00 for 95... Things are trending positively this morning in all facets. Lehigh valley/poconos may need an upgrade to wsw.
  10. Right now, Looks like it in confined to the coastal areas of S Jersey. Just crossed Ocean City, NJ and approaching somers point.
  11. seeing mPING reports of snow in Philly. Good call on the no virga Haz, seems like the echoes on nexrad show the edge of the snow.
  12. Unfortunately looking at CC atm, looks like you guys may be sleet throughout. Good news is that the rain line seems to be holding steady.
  13. Good luck, you're another one who is in a great spot imo. Keep an eye on the CCB snows early tomorrow morning too, you guys may really cash in on that.
  14. Why is there such a difference between the composite radar and the nexrad in these events? When you look at the regional composite, it looks like we've been under light echoes the last few hours.
  15. yeah, was looking at composite radar, not nexrad which shows it "snowing" into the poconos now. Looks like once the real echoes on nexrad role through it starts snowing. Thanks for the reply, was genuinely curious because it seemed like virga was inevitable last night.
  16. Latest HRRR has pretty much all of SE PA down to the delaware staying frozen though 00z and the ending as drizzle/light rain before the dry slot... feeling good about today guys.
  17. Haz, welcome back for winter man. Love the new avatar. Why did you think we wouldn't see virga on the onset? I know low dews doesnt always equal virga but with the fresh airmass and the dry air associated, it seemed inevitable we'd have an hour or two. Is it the strong southerly flow?
  18. Thought I was the only one, I was up until 1:30 last night because I could stop thinking about the first snow of the year. Glad I'm not the only one who's nuts... Anyway temp holding steady this morning, dews are creeping up though. 32F/ 21 DP. Looks like snow outside but nothing falling yet.
  19. Trying to say this without sounding rude(not to you but to others who posted earlier) because it's an honest question, not me being a smart ass.. but I know that low dews doesn't always equal virga especially in these situations with a retreating high and a southerly flow, but with a fresh cold airmass and the dry air associated with that, I thought a few hours of virga was inevitable. Why was little to no virga expected by some here?
  20. I honestly cannot remember a significant November storm in my lifetime(1990-1991) and I've live in the region my entire life(albeit Lancaster and New Jersey for a few years). My memory may be getting fuzzy with old age though
  21. Definitely, most models didn't have precip move in until noon. HRRR says 11 am. Seems like our friends to the south the MA forum are over performing due to the CAD. Hopefully that is a good sign for up here as well. Some area's are already at 2"+. Even DC has around an inch already and almost all the models had them with some sleet and mostly rain. Still snowing too.
  22. Upping my call in the N and W areas but for 95 leaving it largely the same...c-2". Lehigh valley area 3-6"..Pocono's 4-8".. Someone with elevation though may see a foot when we are all said and done.
  23. Anyone in S Jersey or Delaware seeing snow yet or is that Virga? Seems pretty early though that usually the case in these events/
  24. You are sitting pretty friend. You should likely be one of the winners in this event. Good luck! Hope you cash in.
