Icon was actually better for everyone in SNE from its last run..spreads a big swath of snow across the whole area. Not that it really matters, cuz it’s the icon and all. Aren’t you in the wrong sub forum though?

Let’s hope this thing is like Forest Gump as he was about to, and then busts out of his leg braces…and runs like the wind down that dirt road. it’s building and getting ready to bust out and explode. Run Forest…Runnnn.

A solid 4-6” for almost everybody on that depiction…I’d take that at this point. But maybe we can amp this up even a bit more…

I wouldn’t say we’re searching for anything. The improvement are there, and they were/are obvious. There’s plenty of time…NAM Improved again. If this were happening Friday…then ya, we’d need monster moves. But we do have time with it being Sunday. Personally, I’d rather see the steady improvement at H5 happening as they are, rather than the big eye candy at 4 days out, and then have it slowly deteriorate like last time. Let’s keep improving the upper levels…and then we see the results by tomorrow night into Friday at the surface.

C’mon Luke, I’m certainly with you on it probably being nothing much of anything. This season hasn’t been good for us for sure. But there have been big changes from 24 hrs ago at this time with this thing. I really didn’t expect that to even happen. This does have some large scale features going for it, and If it continues to steadily improve over the next day or even two, then we don’t need huge changes all at once being we are still 4 full days away.

I’m talking about the 500 mb. Let’s be real here, this is probably not gonna do much if the tenor of this season continues on into this system. But the 500 mb/upper level has steadily improved last night, and all day for the most part. If that continues..the surface will respond accordingly. We all know that. So we see what happens tonight and tomorrow.

I thought so too, but then I was seeing some folks saying it was worse, so I was like, I guess I must not know what I’m looking at? Good to know I wasn’t hallucinating after all. That 500 mb that Brooklyn99 posted looked significantly better to me.

I’m no pro by any means, but that looks like a significant move to me. Trough sharpened up pretty nicely. But maybe I don’t know what I’m looking at?

Well to be fair the NAM looked very explosive, and so did the Reggie still. Taken with the grain of salt of course.

Euro isn’t what it used to be at all…it doesn’t do what it used to do either, so imo it’s not even the same model anymore, so we can’t apply the same things to it that we used to. Energy still isn’t sampled at all…so still much to figure out over the next day or two. But I m with ya, I’m sure something will come along and muck this up soon enough, and it’ll be “ahhh dam this could have been awesome if it wasn’t for the saggy boobs, or that scooter sh*t streak etc etc. I’m just waiting for that to come.

We’ll I guess what I’m saying, along with Ray and Scott too, is that this can easily come west plenty in the time that’s left. It’s not a big stretch. However, Will it? With the way things have gone this year, I don’t think any of us can see it, cuz something always goes wrong. So we certainly don’t expect it to at all. So I think we agree there.

We’ve been snake-bit this year for sure it seems, but the ground to make up is not that much in 4 days time at all. This “could” come west quite a bit in the next couple days quite easily if this thing phases efficiently. Of course I’m not saying this happens being the way things have gone so far this winter, but that’s not too hard to do in the time that’s left with this potential.

But at this lead that’s where we want to see the improvements. You should know this…

100% agree. I was thinking the same. Who really cares if the surface didn’t respond just yet…we are still a moderate ways out, and the 500mb was significantly improved. I think that’s all you can ask for at this lead, especially for the Euro.

Assuming we get a storm, are we talking sun night into Monday? Or more a Monday deal?

That model is so erratic…it’s really not even usable in that regard.

Ya…I don’t think I’d be putting too much stock into an op run 9-10 days out.

When’s this big warm up? As of yesterday it wasn’t looking all that warm?

Well I mean is there anything showing some legit promise currently? I don’t know of anything showing this going in the right direction at the moment. I would gander that’s why it’s dead. Let’s get something somewhat reliable, showing something positive, and I’m sure it would liven up some. But right now it’s DOA.
