Oh boy, big news...after nearly 3 years and thousands of hours, i can finally say the Winter Storm Archive is now completed through 1994. There are currently 294 storms (and counting) in the archive with snowfall maps, radar, surface/upper air maps and more. I just finished Feb 4th, 1995 and uploaded everything for the entire 94-95 season (which is not much). I made a bunch of improvements for desktop and mobile and everything should be working perfectly but if there are any problems with the links or there are errors let me know. Winter 25-26 storms are being added as they happen, about a week after the fact and there are currently 9 storms that made it into the archive as 3"+ events. https://www.jdjweatherconsulting.com/storm-archive I have a lot plans and additions to the site coming in 2026 which include: Adding season snowfall for 94-99 Updating/redoing all the seasonal maps for 99-24 for SNE/Tri-State/CT Refreshing all historic storms maps and adding Lower Northeast (SNE+Tri-State) to all of them (2020-2026 are done) Adding all snowfall maps that didn't make the archive to snowfall maps pages. Either if they are less than 3" or only affected N MA/S NJ (94-02 is done) More historic snowstorms to be added from before 1994 back to 1800s. There's probably more but that's all i can think of right now. If you haven't been to the site in a while and want to see what is new/added you can check out the updates page where i keep a log of everything new. https://www.jdjweatherconsulting.com/storm-archive/website-updates

Could definitely be an under report Brockton CO-OP. I could definitely remove it if you think it seems low, and based on the surrounding reports, it does.

Definitely. We're on like a A-/B+ through Feb 2nd. Even if we get skunked from here on out the lowest i could give it is like a C/C+ even with zero snow but the chances of that happening are close to nil. We've had two warning events and very solid snowpack with a lot of cold but it hasn't been phenomenal like 95-96 or 10-11. Solid first half. Yeah it's Feb 2. BDR right now is around climo, BDL is about 15" below climo (for the whole winter). There's plenty of winter to go. We are at the halfway point climo-wise. Normal climo snowfall is at/around 50% through February 2nd. BDL is normally at 27.5 of 51.7 and is currently at 35.8, BDR is 15.8 of 33.6 and is currently at 33.2. BDR is doing extremely well through the date around 210% normal.

The 4 Seasons replied to bluewave's topic in New York City Metro

January 25-26th, 2026 Final Storm Totals

I updated all the snowfall maps for Jan 25-26th, 2026 this morning. Removed Shutesbury and leaned to more of the higher reports in Franklin included Turner Falls and Conway and removed some of the lower ones (even though they were complete). Still kept in a few of the reports <14" but shrunk the area. https://www.jdjweatherconsulting.com/jan-25-26-2026 -

Thanks, im finishing up Feb 4th 1995 today so the main archive will finally be complete sometime today. I also just updated Jan 25-26th, 2026 storm, mostly for Franklin/Hampshire area. Are you in northern or southern part of weymouth? And is that 3" on the pembroke/marshfield line? I have a layer overlay of all the towns that i use behind the scenes just to be able to place reports accurately as possible. -

im gonna do a touch up on this and make some small fixes, removing shutesbury and adding turner falls 15" especially since i saw another Greenfield report of 15" or 15.5 on here which justifies that. -

Historic. 18" storms don't grow on trees. And add temps in the single digits for the whole morning/afternoon. Something ive never seen before, not even close. S+ for hours at 7F. Probably top 5 here maybe even top 3. 02-03 and 95-96 were some truly epic amazing A+ winters from Nov-Apr on both...this winters been very good so far but were gonna need a lot more storms/inches to even come close to being one of the greats. -

lol what a crap system even for the cape and islands. Lucky if they even see 1-2 there. From a watch with 4-8 to 3-6 to 1-3 now advisories might be getting pulled, rough. Cant believe they still have the advisories up for 1-3 which is already below criteria and their zones only have chance pops. -

totally i get it, was just explaining. Shutesbury was the only one missing on monday (that i included, the other two i did not) should have left that one out. I can always update it, i must have looked over that one, the rest have both days. I was looking at the OKX map with reports and they have tons incomplete reports on there including mine at 11.5. BOX one is better, though it seems they also have that Shutesbury 11 in there. -

This storm is now up as the 8th 3"+ event of the season in the Winter Storm Archive with snowfall maps, radar, sfc/upper air maps, satellite and more. It's also the first event to make it to the Historic Storms section since 2024. https://www.jdjweatherconsulting.com/jan-25-26-2026 -
January 25-26th, 2026 Final Storm Totals
The 4 Seasons replied to The 4 Seasons's topic in New England
In Franklin you mean? Yeah i was thinking about that when i was putting the map together. They do include both days from the cocorahs and COOP reporters, they measure every day and it included Jan 25-27th, i checked to be sure. I dont just go off the PNS i looked at the actual cocorahs and coop final numbers. There was a bit of a hole toward the end of the main part of the storm you can see on radar and most of Franklin missed that main band that developed on Monday, at least the best of it. I attached a full radar loop below. If it was just one or two reports id toss em but there were about a dozen 11-13.5ish reports around there. The only reports that were higher than 15 were in western Franklin from East Hawley and SW Conway. I decided to include them based on that, i do think about these things when putting a map together, sometimes i gotta trust the reports since i dont live there and when theres like 12 all around the same number, then ill include them. Individual days (these are 24hr snowfall usually ending at 7AM so the 26th is for the 25th, Sunday and the 27th would be for the 26th, Monday) -

yesterday you took a last measurement? Oh it's definitely going to be lower than the final total at the end of the storm, especially if you were doing 6-hour clearing...even if you took a depth measurement at the very end Monday night theres going to be sublimation/compacting/settling especially with that much snow. 21" would probably end up being a couple inches lower by Thursday even with temperatures well below freezing. You can see the snow depth drop a couple or so at BDL from Monday. BDL dropped from 18" depth on Monday to 15". -

Been gone. I'd still be a little nervous if i was on Barnstable/Dukes...still think warning snows have a tough time making it past ACK. I bet the watches get converted to advisories for Barnstable and Dukes and a warning goes up only for ACK. Definitely best shot there. Pretty cool they're getting another snowstorm (or at least plowable event) on top of the 12-16 that fell over there. Lucky bastards. Sometimes it pays to be on the islands, though not often. -

Thanks steve. These take a while to do after the storm ends i have to wait a day later (next morning) just to get CO-OP/CoCoRaHs data then it takes many hours to plot everything and this storm was especially difficult, though not as bad as something like March 2023. So it takes a couple/few days after the storm is over to get everything completed, sometimes it feels like it goes unnoticed and lost in the sauce after people moved on to the next threat. Glad you enjoyed it and find them useful. The full storm with radar/sfc/upper air maps will be on the site in the next couple days once the NCEP stuff comes out. I can't remember if he tagged me or not with the 1K+ reports ive looked at i forget but i know it was in the PNS. Maybe it was him, not sure. But it lines up with Bloomfield and the other report i got from here in Canton at 21" so it definitely felt legit.
