  1. Chatting with a friend in Taiwan. It was warmer in DC today than it was in his yard at 22°N latitude.
  2. Looks like you’re correct. The current location started reporting in 1951 and missed the record warm days from the 30’s and 1950. Highest at BWI before now was 75.
  3. Been checking records for this area today. MRB had an 80 degree January day in 1932. I would have guessed DC would have done it before now.
  4. 71 at Martinsburg. Way short of the record for the date of 79, set in 1950.
  5. 53/49 with fog and drizzle
  6. I gotta disagree with you on this one. The people who constantly complain on this forum are much worse than the people who object to it.
  7. Nothing new for us. I went back as far as 1970 and found only 10 years where the high temperature for January did not reach 60 at DCA. Five of those years, the month topped out at 59, once at 58 and once at 57. About a third of those years there were days that reached 70+.
  8. Temps went above freezing here last hour. First time in over 210 hours. That period averaged 11° below normal during climatologically the coldest time of the year.
  9. 4° right now. Coldest morning of the season.
  10. Some flurries blowing around this morning. 22°.
  11. Midnight high of 22. Afternoon high of 21
  12. The events were from memory. Just checked the totals here. https://www.weather.gov/wrh/climate?wfo=lwx NOW data for any month you want to check.
  13. At BWI, just in the past decade: March 20-21, 2018 - 4.9” March 5, 2015 - 6.2” March 16-17, 2014 - 8.1”
  14. MRB is now -1.7° for January. By the end of Monday it should be more like -2.7°.
  15. I caught 0.14” in my Cocorahs gauge. And measured 2.8” of snow. Great ratios.
  16. Dec 11 - 0.1” Jan 6 - 4.8” Jan 15- 2.7” Jan 19- 2.8” total - 10.4”
  17. 2.5” for today brings me to 10.0” for January so far. First double-digit snowfall month here since Feb 2021.
  18. The HRRR runs all morning have been parking this narrow band over my yard this afternoon and sitting it there snowing itself out for a couple of hours. Would be great if it’s on to something and my area can play catchup on accumulations.
  19. First six-hour swipe is 1.8” Up to 27°.
  20. First time this morning that visibility has dropped below 3/4 mile here. Just hit an inch of new snow.
  21. No one would think less of you if you rounded that up to 2.188”
  22. Fine flakes and 0.6” on the snow board. Heated tipping bucket only has 0.02” liquid, so nice ratios to start. 24°
  23. 26/14. High today of 29. Below freezing since last Saturday evening, but for 3 hours on Sunday afternoon. Schools closed tomorrow making it a full week off.
