40 in my yard this morning. 42 at MRB, 3 degrees above the record low for the date from 1959.

7th day in a row here with highs in the 70's, following a stretch of 7 days in a row of 90's. Really unusual to get a "cool" spell this prolonged in August.

Ended up with 0.98" of rain from the storm last evening. Three large trees came down on my property, two across the street and another two doors down. A trampoline that was anchored into the ground with a heavy 6' stake lifted off (bending the stake) and flew about 50' before bouncing off the hood of our truck and then wedging under a tree, keeping it from smashing into the side of the house.

Severe thunderstorm passed through here and brought down numerous large trees with many others snapped off. Winds were roaring as it came through. Numerous roads are blocked.with power lines down.

99 for my high today. Hottest since I hit 100 on 7/25/2016. Winds roaring now, gusting 35-45 with storms nearby.

9th day in a row of 90+ here. 14 of 21 days in July now, 18 of the last 26 days and 20 days of 90+ for the season. Currently 93.

Checked the records for today at MRB to see if either the record high or record warm low temperatures were in play. 106 is the record for 7/21 in 1930. And 86 for the low from the same day, the hottest night ever at Martinsburg.

Some thunder and lightning with the cell that passed through here last hour. More noteworthy was the heavy rain rates. Ended up with 0.79" in about 30 minutes. Water in the driveway is over ankle deep, indicative of how saturated everything remains after nearly 3" early Monday.

So much for getting missed by storms. 2.84" of rain here overnight has flooded low-lying areas

Everything has missed here all week also, despite storms very close by several times. Last evening a few drops fell in my yard but not enough to wet the pavement. Left shortly after to go to the store and the other end of my street had puddles. That’s a very near miss, lol.

Reached 35.3 degrees earlier in the morning, but seeing a nice drop in the past hour as the air saturates. Down to 33 now with some flakes falling.

34/21 with a light northerly breeze and a steady barometer. Only a bit of snow cover survived the warmth yesterday/ overnight.

Just realized that LWX added their 3 westernmost counties to the WSW earlier this evening, after they had been left off in the afternoon package. That makes me feel more confident actually, that they aren't expecting as pronounced a snow shadow as the system crosses the mountains.

Pretty unusual to see LWX place Allegany, Mineral and Hampshire Counties in the WWA, particularly when PBZ goes WSW in Garrett County with a higher threshold. Got to believe Frostburg and Cumberland will do as well as Hancock and Hagerstown.

Euro still the wettest model for my yard. That doesn’t happen too often. But I like it.

Forecast high for MRB today is 47. Currently socked in with fog at 33. Hourly forecast says 40 by noon and 47 at 3:00. Have to go south to SHD to find a 40 degree reading currently. Will be interesting to see how the day goes. Hoping to preserve some kind of snow pack leading into tomorrow morning.

12Z RGEM looks like a nice front end for the metro areas.

That's a good point, but especially from my yard westward there wasn't much progged for last night. 2" at most on the NAM runs from yesterday.
