    Interesting as a south of the LIE special so far for Suffolk County and even Nassau. Been the other way around the past few summers

    Glad I held off adding water to the pool and the lawn going to love this deluge as second day of real water vs our chlorine town water. Really should get a rain gauge as I have a nice open backyard for it.

    Is that area in PA supposed to fill in south because with the northeast movement on radar it is going to miss most of NJ and NYC area. Or will there be the afternoon variety of storms popping up and you need to luck out if you get one or not? Only watch or warning I have is. EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING Would have thought we would be under a Severe Thunder Storm Watch until 8pm by now.

    Oh my as I lucked out with that one little group of showers in Middlesex as a decent drink for the lawn and still going. Thank you rain goddess!!!

    Hate that we have to play the waiting game and see if the radar lights up as the evening goes on. At least the conditions are there. Just need a nice soaker with some good thunder. Will pass on damaging winds and hail. I did well on Sunday afternoon and got in on one last night on northern end of that line so it might be my area's turn for the miss today. Areas north of the city look like they will get multiple lines.

    Did very well with todays multiple rounds so will be a big help to lawn with the next three days being brutal

    It really does seem like it. Getting reading for second one moving in.

    Did nice with this one with the rain. The lightning picking up as storm is ending as appears to be back building a little and getting stronger as slowly going east- southeast

    Sigh as would just like a decent t-storm. It does not have to be severe. Hoping to at least get some rain to add to the overnight batch for the trees and lawn.

    Got the outflow as it cooled down nicely. No rain as watched the dark sky and lightning go just north of us.

    Got a nice downpour with this one. Winds were also decent at the beginning but not that much lightning. So the lawn got a good watering which is what I wanted so I am happy.

    Sometimes it is the days that are not impressive per models that we over perform on Thunderstorm activity. Just have to wait and see if this is one of those days. Morning junk as BxEngine mentioned is not helping......sigh Just want the area to get a good soaking for trees and lawns.

    The radar is lighting up to our southwest and starting to move northeast

    Wait that line was it for the day? Boooooooo Some nice days ahead.

    Pool overflowing along with some nice loud Thunder and lightning. The kind that has a cracking sound to them meaning they are close. Thought I would miss out but the line built south rather quickly.

    Nice rainy evening with some lightning and rumbles of thunder. At least the afternoon was dry after the early morning rain. Time to close the pool later this week.

    There is one cell that has been sitting over the same area since these flared up. It is just south of 195 so thinking Jackson and other towns around them which includes Great Adventure So flooding likely a concern the longer it parks itself.

    You may get another one if the other group holds together as it moves east across the island.

    Tornado warning for Old Bridge - Edit as now canceled. However, per radar it looks like we will just miss that cell as it will go north of us and going right for Staten Island. Lots of lightning to my west as it approaches.

    Just looked at radar and wow nothing unless further north. I know there is still time but is the curse of predicting severe weather for the area and nothing happening in play? Yeah, hit me with the weenie tag.........

    Radar picking up out in Suffolk County for some good rain. Can anyone verify the heavier amounts?

    Got my heavy rains to give a good soaking for the incoming heat over the next few days. Still some rain and anything more is just a bonus. Did not get a lot of the lightning and thunder which was odd given how dark the sky was. Edit as sky just opened up again.

    Bonus as just had 3rd T-Storm of rain today. Nothing big in the lightning and thunder department but nice downpours. Was not paying attention after first two as I working on a spreadsheet and then realized why is it getting so dark. See the dark sky and my mind gives a "oh yeah!!!" Edit - as a 4th small one just popped up over us. Edit 2 - as a 5th one on approach.

    Radar starting to fill in for NJ for next round. Nassau County did good with the first batch this morning but looks to be weakening for Suffolk as it moves east. If those storms just offshore can make it will be the difference.
