  1. 75 degrees with a dewpoint of 43 here. Spectacular ... a top 5 day of the year.
  2. Yeah looks like no rain chances for a long time. At least our area finally cashed in the last couple weeks. As Allsnow said, about three and a half inches of rain for our area the last couple weeks. We finally had better luck and it has revived things outside.
  3. It's going to be quite a dewpoints swing, with 70s now dropping all the way to the low 40s thursday and friday. It's going to be spectacular bone dry weather late week before our big late season heat stretch sunday and next week.
  4. I'm actually gonna cut the lawn this week. The grass has finally been growing again. Very few lawn cuts this summer, but thankfully we've been getting more rain lately to revive the lawns. Hopefully it's not too late to help for the fall foliage this season too.
  5. Yeah Euro is early with the event, and clears it out by tuesday afternoon. A solid inch for a lot of the area. Obviously it'll be awhile before the details are worked out for this event.
  6. Euro now holds the rain off until wednesday next week.
  7. 0.97" here so far. Far from a drought buster, but can't complain about a nice 1 inch soaking. Especially considering some areas really got screwed. A shame that this didn't end up being the truly widespread heavy rain event that the area needed.
  8. RGEM backs a good amount of rain back in from the east tonight into tomorrow. Not sure how realistic that is .... we'll see.
  9. Yeah I just noticed that too. I'm skeptical but hopefully it's right. I've picked up 0.88" here so far. Good to have a nice steady rain for a change.
  10. Good to see that the RGEM that Rjay just posted is still showing a good soaking for everyone. Hopefully tonight's NAM will be wrong, but who knows.
  11. I picked up a little over a half inch with a heavy downpour earlier this evening. Got lucky since most areas didn't get much. It was a nice watering for the garden. Glad I got that early since there's no guarantee that monday night into tuesday will deliver. NAM just cut way back on the amounts as Stormlover74 just showed. It's just 1 model run and I'm not saying 0z NAM will be right about the event being disappointing, but it certainly wouldn't be shocking if that happens since almost every potential heavy rain event has fallen apart during this horrible drought.
  12. 12z Euro continue to be mostly dry for the day monday, and holds the rain off until monday night. It does give us a pretty good soaking monday night into tuesday morning though. A half inch to inch for most of the area.
  13. Also GGEM is showing almost nothing for monday and holds the rain off until tuesday morning. Last night's Euro also held the rain off until late monday night, so the whole holiday weekend could be ok. We'll see what the new Euro run shows shortly.
  14. 12z GGEM is showing much less though ... less than a half inch for most of the area. We'll see what Euro shows shortly.
  15. Yeah it seems pretty unlikely that we'll get that much rain. Almost every threat has fallen apart during this drought. It'll probably trend to become just isolated activity. And as much as we need the rain, most people aren't going to want to get it on a holiday. Especially an outdoor cookout holiday like Labor Day.
  16. One thing we've seen with our warming climate is we're still getting a good amount of snow in the winter. It has become a Colorado-like climate in the winter here with the combination of warm temps and big snowstorms. So hopefully we can continue to pull off a good amount of snow in our warmer winters, but of course there's no guarantee that this will continue.
  17. 87 with a dewpoint of 49 here, and not a cloud in the sky. What a day to start September.
  18. 0.48" here so far. It was a nice heavy downpour. Still raining lightly, so might add a little more to the total. Sorry that most of it missed you in Branchburg.
  19. Yeah it was a nice storm. A couple close lightning strikes here and picked up about a half inch of rain. A much needed watering.
  20. It's pouring here now. Some wind gusts in the 30s and some lightning. Decent storm ... I'm so glad the line held together.
  21. Yeah different models show different amounts. It's certainly possible that most of it could fall apart before getting to us. We'll see what happens tonight. At least there's a chance.
  22. NAM gives our area about three quarters of an inch tonight, with heavier amounts to the northwest and south. RGEM also gets rain in here for tonight, but not as much. It gives us about a third of an inch. I'm hoping we get a decent watering tonight.
  23. NAM gets some decent rain in here for tonight. Hopefully it'll happen.
  24. Tough call on whether the storms will make it to our area tomorrow evening or fall apart before getting here. Definitely a better chance to the west.
  25. Dewpoints will be falling to the 40s for thursday and friday, but temps will still be nice and warm in the 80s. It's going to be spectacular late summer weather ... a couple of the nicest days of the year. Models now showing a wrinkle with a possible backdoor front for late in the holiday weekend, but way too early to worry about rain. Seems pretty unlikely as Brian just said. It's so difficult to get any rain around here.
