  1. It's so frustrating. I watered the vegetable garden today. A few days ago when the models were showing a deluge for today into tomorrow, I was hoping to finally get a break from watering. Terrible how nothing ever pans out this summer.
  2. RGEM is showing almost nothing for today too. This was another example of why we should be skeptical anytime the models show a good event several days in advance. As usual it fell apart and the terribly dry pattern continues. Just isolated activity the next couple days. Have to hope we get lucky today or tomorrow, but the luck here has been terrible so there's a good chance we won't get anything significant. Maybe we'll have a little better chance when the front comes through later tuesday or wednesday.
  3. It weakened as it hit my area, so just some moderate rain with a few rumbles. About a tenth of an inch of rain. Better than nothing, and hopefully much more coming tomorrow.
  4. NAM isn't showing much for tomorrow and saturday. I know there will be some downpours and there's decent potential due to the high dewpoints, but I'm not getting my hopes up too much since we've had such bad luck here. We'll see.
  5. 93 here, but doesn't feel bad with the dewpoint at 56.
  6. 12z RGEM looks very good too. Not much saturday but a lot of rain friday into friday night. Keeping my fingers crossed.
  7. And then 0z Euro lost the big rain amounts. Hopefully we will see widespread significant rains rather than just the isolated stuff that last night's Euro showed.
  8. 92 degrees here. The first day of what's looking like a very long heat wave. Probably going to be 7 days.
  9. I would be skeptical of that since other models are not showing that much, but we'll see.
  10. Frustrating that the models took away the bigger rain potential for friday into the weekend. Now it's just looking like isolated stuff as you said. I'm glad we got the half inch of rain here early yesterday, but we need so much more. It has been incredibly dry for so long, and it will dry out and go back to being parched very quickly the next couple days. Not good that the desperately needed more significant rains might not be coming.
  11. RGEM is closer to just a quarter inch for most of the area. Maybe some of the other models will be right about getting more significant rain, but I'm not getting hopes up too high.
  12. The latest run of HRRR (19z) gives us almost nothing. Not getting my hopes up with NAM being the only model that gives us decent rain, but we'll see.
  13. And we can hope that NAM is right about getting more. I doubt it, but you never know.
  14. Only a little bit on the HRRR. 12z Euro that just came out cut way back on the rain. Now it has very little. Not looking good for much rain tonight, unfortunately.
  15. I know Euro has been advertising a decent period of rain for tonight, but RGEM and HRRR give us pretty much nothing. Not getting my hopes up for anything.
  16. Unfortunately but not surprisingly they've been falling apart as they move east. Just a light shower here. Thank goodness I got the .75 early this morning.
  17. The storm moving into Hunterdon County is on track to hit our area. Hopefully it'll hold together.
  18. Some decent storms in eastern PA right now. At least a slight chance that we'll get hit by one of those in a couple hours.
  19. That's about what I got too. When I went to bed at midnight and saw those downpours in eastern PA, I figured they'd fall apart or miss us because our luck has been so bad. Was surprised when I woke up at 2:45 and it was pouring. Glad I can finally take a break from watering the garden today. Obviously we need a lot more, but that was desperately needed rain.
  20. I'm going outside right now to water. Have to keep my tomatoes and other vegetable plants going in this terrible parched environment.
  21. Yeah that cell missing us just to the south, and the stuff in Hunterdon County will miss us to the north. We can't buy a drop of rain. The situation is horrendous ... don't think I've ever seen it this parched out there.
  22. Some heavy downpours in northern NJ right now, missing us as usual. Certainly a chance we could see something later today, but not getting my hopes up. I think I'll probably be watering again.
  23. Yeah the dewpoints have been mid 50s to low 60s in our area during most of this 5 day extreme heat stretch. Obviously tremendous heat, but it hasn't felt that bad doing stuff outside thanks to the reasonable humidity levels.
