  1. Good to finally see some sunshine. Temp popped to 86 here. Feels steamy out there with the dewpoint at 72.
  2. It has been miserable weather, but one positive is it revived my romaine lettuce. Yesterday I picked a ton of pretty high quality lettuce, very unusual for mid June. This cloudy, cool damp weather has been great for the cool season vegetables. It's really extending them. I'm still picking a lot of broccoli too. Of course not great for the warm weather vegetables. My tomatoes are off to a slow start. I'm glad this pattern is finally ending. It's nice to still be getting the lettuce, but the warm weather vegetables obviously are the more important thing now. It's time to burn away the cold weather vegetables and get the warm weather vegetables going.
  3. Hopefully we'll see some big-time t-storms this summer. I enjoy a good t-storm almost as much as a snowstorm.
  4. WOW, you like it very warm. Most people like room temperature in the low 70s. Like most people, I'd never be able to sleep if it was in the 80s in my house. 70 to 72 is my perfect temp range for sleeping.
  5. Three months? That's crazy. We definitely need a drying out period right now, but we also don't want to go into another drought during the summer. How about a happy medium? Those of us with gardens care about getting enough rain.
  6. Got 0.66" here today. Temps stuck in the mid 60s during the afternoon in mid June -- dreadful weather.
  7. That'll be a good time for you to get it fixed. The next few days will be the last stretch in which AC isn't needed. After that it will be constant AC until the fall.
  8. Had a high temp of 92 here today. The fourth time that we've had a 90 degree high temp so far this season. We'll do it again late next week after the cool period this weekend into early week.
  9. We can hope, but accuracy at that range is very low.
  10. Had a few heavy downpours. 0.58" here.
  11. Remember the insane amount of fires we had during the fall. For a couple months it was just about the driest weather I've ever seen. It was a tinderbox out there. It wasn't a tremendously long drought, but it was a severe one.
  12. Had some light to moderate rain -- 0.14" here today. Only 64 degrees right now. Terrible weather, but I will take advantage of it by going for a long fast run. To me that's the only positive about still having weather this cool in June -- being able to run fast instead of having to run slowly in the hot weather. I am looking forward to the summery weather that we're going to have mid to late week though. We should hit low 90s here on Thursday. Too bad it will go back to the dreary east winds weather for Father's Day Weekend.
  13. I got only 0.12" here today. The early afternoon rain was moderate for a little while.
  14. It hit 91 here before the clouds moved in. The last 3 days it was 90-91-91 for the high temps, so we did achieve a heat wave here. I see a storm in Somerset County is missing me to the northwest right now. I just heard a rumble way off in the distance. I don't think anything is gonna make it to my area this evening, but keeping an eye on radar in case.
  15. Looks like scattered downpours tomorrow with some spots getting significant rain while others get very little. We had the much-needed drying out period, but now the ground is back to being a little dry again. I watered the vegetable garden for the first time in quite awhile yesterday. I'd like to see a downpour tomorrow.
  16. It's 90 here right now for a 2nd day in a row.
  17. I knew it was gonna be very close for my location, and we did touch 90 here. We'll see if we can get a heat wave here. Definitely low 90s tomorrow, but Friday is gonna be close. I say we'll pull it off.
  18. Had a high temp of 84 here today. We might hit 90 tomorrow. Today I went up to Swartswood Park in Sussex County to do some hiking. It was absolutely perfect summer weather.
  19. High temp of 75 here today. Beautiful day with the low dewpoints and sunshine. Gonna be interesting to see if we can get a heat wave here Wednesday through Friday. Definitely low-mid 90s on Thursday. Wednesday and Friday are going to be close with high temps near 90.
  20. 0.95" here. I'm glad we're gonna have several dry days starting tomorrow. Looks like we have a shot at 90 Wednesday and Thursday.
  21. Yeah obviously I'm all for getting enough rain for the garden during the spring and summer, but we definitely don't want it to stay wet for too long.As you said, fungal diseases can become a problem when it stays wet for too long. My tomatoes, peppers and eggplants have had some problems with fungal disease in recent years, but I've been spraying them with a biofungicide. It causes the plants to have an immune response and works pretty well. It has significantly reduced fungal disease problems for me. We definitely could use a drying out period after this event tonight into tomorrow. I'm glad we're going to see sunny warm weather next week.
  22. Another good soaking with 0.66" here. I haven't had to water the vegetable garden much lately.
  23. 0.08" so far this afternoon here. I was wondering if the rain might hold off until late afternoon due to the dry air as the RGEM was showing, but nope. It came in early and has been a wet afternoon. Temp fell to 55 and it feels raw out there. Looks like a good soaking tonight of more than a half inch.
  24. Only 58 degrees out there with the light rain coming down. Nasty day.
