    34 here as well. Some frost on the cars, but the vegetable plants in the garden are fine. Shouldn't be any worse tonight and then we go into an extended warmer pattern, so the growing season should continue into early november. Very happy about that.

    You certainly could be right, but I'm hoping the forecast of mid 30s ends up being correct. I'd like to see the growing season continue. I've always noticed that my tomatoes and peppers in the garden are ok as long as the temp stays a couple degrees above freezing. Hopefully we can get through the next couple nights, because the long range pattern looks nice and warm. We can probably extend the growing season until early november if we can avoid a freeze the next couple nights. It's going to be close though.

    Only 0.37 here, but not too disappointed since we got plenty of rain in recent weeks. Three chilly days next week before it warms back up. Hopefully we can avoid the frost so the growing season can continue. It's going to be close.

    Yeah I went for a run on the pavement today. I'm planning on doing some hiking tomorrow, so hopefully the ground won't be as mushy after all the sunshine. Made it to 77 here today, and we should hit about that again tomorrow. I love warm weather in october.

    75 degrees here. A spectacular day for outdoor activities.

    I got three and a half inches here. Very happy that we got all this rain, but I'm also looking forward to 75 degrees and sunny the next 2 days after all this raw weather.

    I think they'll get the Mets games in today. Radar looks much better now. The steady rain is moving away and it looks as if it will just be occasional showers the rest of today.

    I'm up to 0.75 for the day now. Quite a soaker today, and a big bust as you said. But we'll certainly take it. It's great that this drought is being busted.

    Yeah, we're fortunate that we're just getting into the northern edge of this rain band. Looking ahead to tuesday's potential, 12z NAM and RGEM keep most of the rain to our south. That's still a very close call ... we don't know yet if we're going to get significant rain or if it'll be just to our south.

    A nice moderate rain here right now. We're fortunate that we're just getting into the rain today. It looks as if it's going to be NYC-south, with much of northern NJ staying dry today.

    But GFS and GGEM keep the rain well to our south for monday and tuesday. It'll be interesting to see if the Euro is correct about the 2nd round monday and tuesday.

    It brings it in very early too. Mostly a friday night into early saturday morning event on the NAM. The timing for this event has really been speeding up. 0z GGEM has a good rain early saturday morning too.

    It's coming down in buckets again here now. This 3rd torrential downpour will take us over an inch of rain. We're getting a nice soaking tonight.

    Yeah it's just hitting here now. Starting to pour again and just had a very close lightning strike. My DirecTV just went out again too. Annoying that it's messing up me watching the football game, but I'm glad we're getting the rain. Another very small storm, so it'll pour for only a few minutes again but it's very intense.

    Yeah a good amount of rain even though it was very brief. Came down in buckets. Looking at radar, we could see another downpour in a little while.

    Pouring here now and a decent amount of lightning. Glad we're getting something good afterall.

    Too bad the northern part of the batch weakened. Just some light to moderate rain for a little while here.

    Yeah that 2nd batch is what I've had my eye on. It looks good on radar right now and is on track to hit us. It's getting ready to move into western NJ, and hopefully it'll hold together.

    Some decent downpours in eastern PA right now. Hopefully we'll get enough to give things a decent watering.

    Beautiful now. Sunny and the temp popped up to 68.

    Ended up with 0.11 here. Temp is down to 63, but it'll probably pop back up to the upper 60s later this afternoon when the sun comes out.

    Had some moderate rain for a little while ... not even a tenth of an inch. Looks like a few more showers over the next few hours.

    It was because the models had been showing almost nothing. I was surprised when radar was looking that good. You're right, you have to adjust and increase the rain chance in the forecast when radar shows that the models were wrong. I had a pretty good downpour with some wind here too.

    88 degrees here right now. Had a high temp of 85 yesterday.
