Yeah I'd be surprised if we saw upper 90s. To me it looks more like low to mid 90s. Wouldn't be surprised to see warm spots like Newark hit 94-95. And as SnoSki said, dewpoints will be in the 60s instead of the 70s during the heat so it won't feel oppressive. This is happening too late in the season to be an extreme event, but obviously it's going to be way above normal temps for early September. We're due for it after not having any real heat all of August. I enjoyed the lack of major heat and all the rain/storms this summer, but I could go for a much warmer than normal and dry first half of September. Bring on extended summer.
-
And dewpoints down into the 40s for thursday and friday. Even saturday will still have low humidity with dewpoints in the 50s Spectacular weather for a few days before the heat comes in. We're certainly due for some heat after not having any real heat all of August.
-
Yeah I know we don't really need it right now since we've had a very wet last 2 months, but I'll take one more since it appears we're going into a long dry pattern after wednesday morning.
-
12z run of RGEM not as impressed and gives most of the area a quarter to half inch, but 3km NAM gives a lot of the area heavy rain. Hopefully we can get a good soaking tuesday night into wednesday morning, since it's looking like our last chance of rain for a long time.
-
Looks as if dewpoints could get down to the high 40s thursday and friday. A fall preview before we go into the much warmer pattern over the weekend.
-
Yeah the models have increased the amounts. 12z Euro and CMC showing 1 to 2 inches for a lot of the area. Looking like a nice soaking tuesday night into wednesday morning. Then the humidity drops wednesday afternoon and we have a beautiful low humidity stretch for a few days.
-
I disagree with you about widespread showers/storms to close the month wednesday and thursday. The models are showing the showers tuesday into tuesday night, and out of here by early wednesday morning. Looks like a very dry airmass coming in during the day wednesday, and very low humidity on thursday. Looks like a great close to the month to me. I do agree with you about a warmer pattern in the long range. Great timing for the holiday weekend. Looks like a spectacular holiday weekend with temps warming back up to the 80s.

It's crazy how erratic that model is. Sometimes it's spectacular and sometimes it's beyond horrendous.
-
I'm glad that we've had a cooler than normal August, but I could go for a warm September. Extended summer in nice.
-
Still looks like some very low humidity coming in though. I think dewpoints could get down to the 40s on thursday.
-
Nice. I got 0.47" here this morning.
-
I got 1.16" from this morning's batch of rain. Very nice soaking.
-
Other models showing the heavier amounts to the north too. It's looking as if our area could be near the sharp cutoff. We could get just a quarter inch or 1 to 2 inches.
-
81 degrees with a dewpoint of 47 here. Doesn't get any better than this.
-
12z RGEM has a rainy friday.
-
Dewpoint all the way down to 50. Enjoy this extremely low humidity today and tomorrow. More low humidity coming early next week as this comfortable August continues.
-
80 with a dewpoint of 53 here. Spectacular. Pretty much as nice as it gets during the summer. Another cool low humidity airmass like this coming in for tuesday and wednesday, and in the long range it appears another one will be coming in for the last several days of August. It looking likely that we're gonna end up with a cooler than normal August for a change.

Yeah as I said yesterday, this is the best the grass has looked in August in a long time. Incredible how fast it's growing. What a difference from June when it was burning out.
-
Yeah yesterday afternoon a small downpour looked pretty good on radar as it was approaching from the south, but it weakened just as it was hitting my area. It poured for about 1 minute and then some light rain for 5 minutes. I got only .07" out of that. Have a great weekend!
-
Yep Allsnow got a lot of rain but we just missed it. Only .13 here. Like you said it's no big deal since we've had plenty of rain. Looking forward to the beautiful weekend with very low humidity. One rare hot day on monday, and then more beautiful low humidity weather with temps only in the low 80s tuesday through thursday. What an August we're having.
-
Yeah I saw the isolated cells during the afternoon/evening yesterday. Missed me here but when I was looking at radar I saw that cell that went over your area.
-
Nothing here last night. I did get a half inch tuesday night though.
-
It's amazing that I'm cutting the lawn once a week this time of year. It's been a long time since I've seen grass grow like this during the heart of summer. It looks more like spring out there. I never would have imagined this in June when the grass was burnt out and we were heading into a drought. This was a spectacular turnaround.

80 degrees saturday and mid 80s sunday with dewpoints in the 50s both days. Spectacular weekend coming up.
-
0.53" here. A nice watering.
