  1. I've picked up 0.84" from this event so far. I see the narrow line of downpours has moved into Somerset County, so it will be here shortly and might get us to a little over an inch of rain for the event.
  2. We were running about 1 degree below normal through the first week of the month, but we knew that wouldn't last these days. That 80 degree day on the 9th wiped away our negative departure for the month.
  3. 80 degrees here. Beautiful.
  4. 76 here right now. Maybe we can get to 80 today. It's going to be close.
  5. I'm glad you're starting to come around. We want snow in the winter, but this time of year it's nice to get warm weather.
  6. Yeah it stays pretty bright out even with just 10% of the sun. Didn't seem very dark to me. Really meh, but I know it's cool to look at with the special glasses for people that are fascinated by this event.
  7. Yeah I was gonna mention that too. Models right now showing a half inch to 1 inch rainfall, not too bad. Hopefully that will be the case since the last thing we need is another 3 inch super soaker. Of course the way things have been going, it wouldn't be surprising to see the models trend wetter as it gets closer. Anyway it's 68 degrees here. Beautiful weather today.
  8. I am with you on that. I love watching meteor showers, but eclipse doesn't interest me very much.
  9. Yeah that snowband saved my area from having a way below average snowfall winter. Ended up getting almost 20 inches for the winter here.
  10. I'll still take that great snowband we had in February over this lol.
  11. 48 degrees here as our below average early April continues. Looking forward getting back to above normal temps on Monday (probably mid 60s), and then mid 70s on Tuesday.
  12. Yeah not good for people that were still in bed. Just talked to my elderly father. He was sleeping late and was so startled that he fell out of bed and hurt his back.
  13. Wow. That's the most I've ever felt my house shake. Quite a bit of stuff fell.
  14. The main event was over, but yeah added .23 more here from the late night showers. Heard some pinging on the window when I was trying to get to sleep, so we had a little sleet mixed in with the rain. Was quite an event with a t-storm and a little wintry precip at the end. 3.08" was the 3 day rain total here.
  15. Looks like that's about it. 1.78" here today after 0.95" yesterday, so 2.73" for this very wet 2 day period. About what was expected. Boy do we need a drying out period now. Thankfully the next week looks dry, and I'm looking forward to the warmup next week. We should hit 70 here on Tuesday. It'll be nice to get back to weather that's good for outdoor activities.
  16. Didn't last long, but it was nice to get the first t-storm of the season. A nice highlight in this otherwise lousy week.
  17. Hearing quite a bit of thunder right now. Wild to get this much thunder when it's 40 degrees.
  18. We knew for a long time that Tuesday and Wednesday were gonna be washouts. Very unlikely that would last for 3 days ... Thursday was always supposed to be just a few lingering showers, unless people believed the ridiculous CMC snow solutions.
  19. Thank goodness they're doing the right thing today after yesterday's debacle. I still can't believe they made fans wait 2 hours last night and then postponed the game just as the rain was ending around 9pm.
  20. 41 degrees with moderate rain .... this is as miserable as it gets. 1.03" here so far today after getting 0.95" yesterday.
  21. Yeah they should have postponed before the game, but what I found ridiculous was they made people wait 2 hours and then called the game just as the rain was ending around 9pm. If you make people wait that long, then why call it just as you were getting into a dry window? The way the whole thing was handled was a disgrace.
  22. We should see some 70 degree weather by around the 9th or 10th of the month ... really looking forward to that. Miserable week this week, but at least the cool season vegetables in the garden will like this kind of weather.
  23. Obviously what the 12z Euro showed wouldn't cut it for the NYC area. A 10:1 map showing barely a half inch would mean zero for this area this time of year. It wouldn't be surprising if areas well to the north get a little though.
  24. I think even most snow lovers in this area don't want to get lucky this time of year. Snow in April would be pretty bad since the growing season has started. Thankfully the CMC is very likely to be wrong with the snow solution for our area. Hopefully CMC is also overdoing it with the really big 3 inch plus rain amounts. Euro gives us half that amount of rain, but even if that's correct it's gonna be a miserable few days.
