  1. Only a tenth of an inch of rain. The wind was much more impressive than the rain with the storm here.
  2. Yeah the 18z run did a good job while the later runs moved it too far north. That shouldn't happen with a highly skilled very short range model, but we know that the HRRR is very erratic at times.
  3. Some nice 30 to 40mph wind gusts as the line moved in, but only light to moderate rain here as well. Right now as I type it just picked up to high end moderate rain.
  4. The line extends a little south of where HRRR had it. Heavy rain with the line well down into Hunterdon County right now. It's on track to hit us, but the question is will it hold together.
  5. And tomorrow the activity is gonna be widely scattered. We might get something tonight or tomorrow, or we might not get anything at all. We hope but who knows.
  6. Maybe, but RGEM and HRRR show decent potential for tonight. We shall see.
  7. Yeah I hope we get something decent tonight or tomorrow. The ground is already drying out again. We got a good amount of rain here during the last week of June and it certainly helped, but we still need a lot more after getting almost no rain all of May and the first 3 weeks of June. Still way behind in rainfall for the last couple months.
  8. Good to see that the models now get the rain out of the way late monday and are showing a dry 4th. I wouldn't rule out a couple pop ups, but overall it's looking good for the holiday.
  9. It felt good doing stuff outside this afternoon with the dewpoints in the high 50s. Much more comfortable.
  10. We're going to have our holiday cookouts on tuesday and wednesday. Looks as if that will work out best with the weather.
  11. A little better the next couple days with the dewpoints down around 60. We'll see if we can get them a little below 60. We might be able to get them down to the upper 50s tomorrow. Not bad. Dewpoints will be going back up over the weekend though.
  12. Yeah it was a nice soaking with the steady rain after the t-storm. I ended up with 0.73" here tonight.
  13. Yeah this was a nice t-storm because it had some decent wind with it. Had some 30 to 40mph gusts here along with the very heavy rain.
  14. A real steambath. It wasn't much fun running out in this today. Earlier in the Spring when we had a couple 90 degree days, it felt good running in that because the humidity was so low. What a difference the humidity makes. 90 with low humidity feels good while 80 with high humidity feels terrible. Anyway more downpours approaching. Should be another good soaking tonight. The good thing about this humidity is helped to produce the rain that we desperately needed. I'm looking forward to the lower humidity thursday though.
  15. Very sad, but I know very early on you were very skeptical about this pattern producing for NYC and east. You nailed it.
  16. I see it mostly fell apart as it moved into the city and the heavier rain went into northeast NJ. So difficult to get anything decent into NYC in this pattern.
  17. Looks like a little break from this humidity with dewpoints falling to the upper 50s on thursday, but back to the high humidity that fuels storm chances for the weekend.
  18. Hopefully this pattern won't end up being a complete bust for NYC, but we've known for awhile that it would favor west of the city. As you said it looks like 2 more days of storm chances, and then it drops to a slight chance for late week. I see tonight's CMC has almost no activity for thursday and friday.
  19. Some downpours, but this late night batch ended up being pretty weak. Looked great in PA, but as you said too late for us. But at least it held together just enough to give NYC a little downpour. I got only .18 from this late night rain. Thankfully I got the very heavy downpours during the afternoon.
  20. The batch that looked so intense as it moved into western NJ weakened somewhat. Decent downpour here now, but nothing to write home about. It'll be interesting to see if it can hold together enough to give NYC some decent rain. The new run of HRRR says it falls apart before it gets to NYC.
  21. Yeah it wasn't a big deal. A little thunder and the rain wasn't as heavy as what we got in the afternoon. The stuff to the southwest looks pretty intense though, so looking forward to that.
  22. Not sure anything significant is gonna make it to NYC either, but we knew all along that this pattern favored west of the city.
  23. At the moment there isn't anything on track to hit NYC/LI. The downpours in eastern Union are moving more north. Hopefully things will change later since NYC/LI hasn't had much luck during this stretch of rain chances, but the latest HRRR isn't very optimistic about much making it to NYC/LI for today/tonight.
  24. Temp dropped to 70 here during the downpours, but it's already back up to 80. Hopefully we're destabilizing the atmosphere enough for the storms later. On a side note, the July 4th weather looks great right now. Over a week away so hopefully that will hold.
  25. Yep I got another heavy downpour. I'm up to 0.53" for the day now after yesterday's 0.56".
