Felt great today with a high temp of 59 here. Single digits Sunday night? Not looking forward to that type of cold.
-
Definitely looks like the coldest air of the season. I don't think it will make it out of the 20s here on Sunday for the first time this season. Too bad the Christmas to New Year's period looks very mild. Would've been nice for it to feel like the holidays and maybe see some snowflakes during the big holiday week, but it doesn't appear to be in the cards.
-
By far the coldest morning of the season here with a low temp of 13.
-
Only 10 days away, lol. But at least we have a little hope.
-
Only 0.59" here so far. Looks as if the next batch will get us to about 1 inch for the day. Definitely an underperformer. I was actually able to go for a run during the late afternoon. Just some light rain with very little wind, and it felt good running in low 60s. I sure didn't think I'd be able to run today considering how bad the forecast looked.

HRRR very bullish on rain amounts with 2 to 3 inches for most of the area. Just what we need to help with the drought.

Joe Cioffi is one of my all time favorites. The Joestradamus stuff he used to due on channel 11 was a lot of fun.

Sucks that the long range looks so ugly. Very mild as we move through mid to late December. Hopefully it will change late month just in time for the holidays. It would be nice to see some snowflakes around holiday time. At least Wednesday is looking like a good soaking with at least an inch of rain. Obviously we really need it. Long way to go to bust this drought.

Cool to see a legit snow squall here. Coming down moderately to heavily with a dusting on colder surfaces. Too bad it wasn't just a little bit colder ... we could've gotten a quick half inch to inch out of this. Still nice to see the snow and a dusting though. At least we can say we got a little white on the ground out of this cold pattern in early December.
-
No accumulation but it came down moderately for a few minutes. Nice snow shower.
-
Getting a snow shower here right now with some gusty winds. Nice to see.
-
Not sure why I got a couple weenies for that one, lol. Tuesday looks like at least mid 50s here. They'll see how warm it gets early next week.
-
Early next week continues to look warmer and warmer. Well up into the 50s.
-
HRRR says you have to go well to the NW to see any accumulation. RGEM doesn't give our area anything as well. I would lean towards those models instead of the crazy NAM models, but of course you never know for sure. Still something to keep an eye on.

A cold first half of December has turned into just a cold first week of December. Next week looks fairly mild now. We do still have hope of seeing flakes Wednesday night. 0z Euro actually gives us a decent little burst of snow, but it will be tough to accumulate near the coast with temps above freezing. It's pretty much all we have right now, so we root to see a little something Wednesday night.
-
Euro still giving us some light snow late Wednesday on the 12z run.
-
Same here. Right now it's looking most likely that it's just going to be a very light event if we get anything next week. Next Saturday is way out there, but before then it still appears that we have a shot at seeing a little something late Wednesday. Last night's Euro and today's CMC saying we could get some light snow late Wednesday. Still very questionable with the possibility of it going too far north, but it's possible we could get a coating out of it. That would be nice to see.
-
It does look much colder at the end of the week though. We should see highs only in the 30s Friday into next weekend, which is well below normal. I just hope we get a little snow out of this cold pattern eventually.

Yeah it's bad timing for Thanksgiving morning activities, but as I said the other day it does appear we can salvage part of the afternoon. Rain should be out of here by 2 or 3pm so at least it's not an all day washout. Anyway I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow! I hope everyone has a great holiday. Hopefully after the holiday we'll have a snow threat to track. As eduggs said, right now it looks more likely that it'll just be light snow threats. Maybe we can get a coating to an inch or two from a clipper-like system. With cold air around for an extended period of time in early to mid December, you'd hope that we can at least pull off something like that. I see 12z Euro does give us some light snow next Wednesday night. Long way to go on that one, but I'm hopeful that we'll see at least a little accumulating snow in early December.
-
12z Euro gives us a snow event on the 7th. Obviously fantasy range and not to be taken very seriously, but with plenty of cold air for the first couple weeks of December we're going to have a real shot of seeing something at some point.
-
We might be able to salvage mid to late afternoon. On the CMC the rain ends midday.
-
Couldn't agree more. With 2 weeks of consistent cold weather, odds are high that a snow threat or 2 will pop up even if the models aren't showing anything right now. Odds look pretty high that the coast will see an accumulating snow in December this year. I'm excited.
-
Looks like just a tenth to quarter inch tomorrow morning, but a more significant rainfall for Thanksgiving to get us to that .75 to 1" for the week. I agree with you ... bad timing for the holiday, but we really need the rain so we'll gladly take it.

A little front end snow well to the NW on the Euro. As snowman19 said, we just don't have the cold air in place yet for this event. That along with the bad track means you're going to have to be well to the NW to see any snow, unless we see dramatic changes. I'm excited about the extended cold pattern after that storm though. It has been a long time since we've seen a December snowstorm here, and we're gonna have a real shot in early December for a change.
