  1. RGEM looks decent too, giving a lot of the area close to a half inch. We're not gonna get the big soaking that we want to end the dry spell, but hopefully it will be enough to give things a decent watering. I'd be happy with .25" to .50".
  2. Another overperformer today. It's 82 here. We sure wiped out the significant negative departure that we had for the first 10 days of the month.
  3. Yeah it's still very questionable how much rain we'll get midweek, as bluewave just explained. I won't get my hopes up too high yet.
  4. And today's CMC gives our area a half inch to three quarters of an inch Wednesday into Wednesday night. Still a long way to go, but overall the models right now looks pretty good. Let's hope we finally get a desperately needed drink.
  5. And he also called for warmer than normal temps this week when other forecasts were cooler. Great job by WX/PT! We won't see 87 like yesterday, but another warm one today. It's 80 degrees here right now.
  6. Now up to 87 here. Feels like the middle of summer, but with low humidity. Beautiful day.
  7. It's already 82 here. Might hit 86 or 87 here today.
  8. We have to get used to it. There are some nice things about the fall, but it's the most boring time of year for weather.
  9. Yeah I was just gonna mention that too. Maybe the Euro wasn't crazy afterall, but who knows. I have no idea what to expect tomorrow, but hopefully we'll get a good soaking. Man do we need it.
  10. Yeah it gives us over 2 inches of rain. I'm still gonna give the garden a good watering today though, since it's still very questionable with the models all over the place.
  11. And I see the new run of Euro now brings in the rain for Wednesday. Good news. CMC is aggressive in bringing it in Tuesday afternoon. Starting to look better, but a long way to go.
  12. I am with you on this. I know some people point out that it's far from a drought and fall is here soon anyway, but some of us care about the growing season which goes through October. Still tomatoes and lots of other stuff in my vegetable garden producing, and now I have fall lettuce out there that will be producing through October. Of course watering will keep this stuff going, but it's always better to get some rain off and on. VERY dry out there right now and we really could use some rain. Hopefully next week but it's very questionable whether it will make it this far north.
  13. I hope this long dry stretch isn't gonna mess up the fall foliage season. Hopefully the rain next week will make it up here, but I'm skeptical that much will get this far north. I see 12z Euro does get it up to southern NJ. Very early obviously so who knows.
  14. Yeah it's frustrating. Lots of watering will be needed as we move through the late part of the growing season.
  15. 83 degrees with a dewpoint of 45 here. What a day. About as perfect as it gets.
  16. I see 12z Euro keeps it well to the south too.
  17. 81 here as we start a very long stretch of days with high temps in the 80s. 90 isn't looking likely, but temps well up into the 80s (probably 85 to 88) for Friday and the weekend.
  18. Yeah it just felt cool because we've gotten so used to WAY above normal temps.
  19. Nice that we can now simply give out a disagree emoji instead of those stupid hot dogs.
  20. Just a very brief shower here. Terrible. Very dry out there. Lots of watering will be needed. I have Romaine lettuce out there now for the fall. It's doing very well and almost ready for picking, but obviously hot dry weather won't be good for lettuce. I'll have to water it a lot to keep it in good shape during the dry hot stretch next week.
  21. I wonder if we have a shot at a heat wave here Thursday through the weekend. It's more likely upper 80s, but hitting 90 isn't out of the question.
  22. Radar starting to look a little better. Latest HRRR (15z run) gives our area some rain. There's still hope that we can see a little downpour that delivers a quarter to half inch. We need a watering.
