  1. On the flip side though, we’ve also been through a very long stretch of little to no -NAO in the winter months, and this year seems to be continuing that trend in earnest. At some point that will need to change.
  2. Ouch... that looks horrendous, and I think it's fair to assume the mountain has been closed for a while. Don't they usually get decent snowfall? I believe their average is around 70" or so.
  3. What I'm wondering is why the Kuchera maps are depicting 20:1 ratios when that is very unlikely in reality.
  4. You should do what I did -- move north. Although I'd have to say even here it's been boring since mid-December. Maybe Vermont. Also those 40" winters were never going to be the norm in NYC. You just got very lucky for 18 years.
  5. Based on the latest guidance, another trip to Wildcat and maybe a day at Sunday River might be the cards.
  6. I'm keeping an eye on next weekend... should be great for skiing if the latest runs are anywhere close to the truth (though I'm sure they're overdone). I'm considering either Okemo and Stowe, or Sunapee.
  7. Makes sense. I had that issue in Lancaster, PA, which was in between radar sites and didn't get the best signal. Incredible event nonetheless.
  8. Pretty incredible, yet the streamer barely shows up as a blip on the KGYX radar (looking northwest of Concord). Is that usual for these highly localized snow squalls?
  9. I saw the video Lisa posted on Facebook... pretty incredible.
  10. How did your area do? Looks like some good totals around I-81.
  11. Very impressive radar over just about all of the Baltimore area.
  12. Awesome stuff, much better than I was expecting.
  13. Had a good time at Wildcat. Wildcat
  14. Too bad it’s the NAM though.
  15. I was near Baltimore. It was washed away by a rainstorm. Of course I was out of town (left the day right after the storm, thank goodness the storm wasn’t a few day’s later ), so I didn’t have to watch all the melting happen.
  16. 19” at my old home. Probably also a very good storm at my current location.
  17. Living in New England has made me much more tolerant of mild days in the winter.
  18. Yep, although I think some of the following winters (esp 2011-12) brought most of them back to reality. I do think the whole decade of the 00s gave many weenies (including me for a while) an unrealistic expectation for December. We had a lot of good December 5th storms, plus the big one in 2009, which made it easy to forget that mid-Atlantic climo really doesn’t favor December snow, especially early December.
  19. I can’t believe it’s been 10 years. I got my last final canceled that semester and enjoyed the biggest storm since PDII. Also happy anniversary mappy.
  20. I'm a bit late to this thread, but yeah, being west of 83 you're in a solid spot. You probably live in Mays Chapel, which is right near where I was for all those years. I'm guessing your average is around 26-28" especially if you're around 500'+. It's the ideal spot if you want good climo, but also don't want to be too far from Baltimore. Some of these small marginal overnight events would have a solid coating to half inch, sometimes even over an inch, while the lower areas had next to nothing.
  21. 3.2", for a seasonal total of 13.4" to date. It's been a very nice start here.
  22. 3.2”, snow is just about over now. Nice little event here.
  23. As usual I see the classic Westminster death band on the radar.
  24. Awesome to see you all getting a little snow! Funny enough it's currently raining up north where I am, but that will change over as well.
  25. I can't believe I haven't shared my final total. Ended up with 10.2", with some pretty heavy rates Tuesday morning. Really happy with it overall. Looking forward to more on Wednesday.
