Amazing climo out there. All this time I thought Aldie was just a grocery store lol. It looks like a cool, rainy afternoon here in the lowlands. I'm taking full advantage of it. I took the afternoon off work and going for a long hike. Probably the last extended hike I'll do until fall. I'll take all the rain is can get because the furnace is coming.

The drought in AA County is definitely completely dead. It's actually pretty swampy here in the lowlands. Today looks like a nice day to take off work due to weather and go for a long hike before the heat kicks in for the next 4 months.

It looks like some rain is trying to develop south of DC. The sky has gotten much darker in the past hour. I wonder if that will move across the lowlands later. It's been a great day in the garden. Nice and cool with a little breezy drizzle.

That stuff in SW, VA is liking the environment we have in place. It's a tropical jungle out here in the lowland forest.

We had the same thing down the road from you. I haven't heard rain like that in a while. It was roaring. I'm definitely on the warm side of the front this morning. Very warm and humid with peaks of sun.

The lowlands got hit hard last evening. Lots of flash flooding in the South River watershed last evening around 8:00. I haven't looked to see how much fell IMBY. Radar estimates are 2-3". 1.20" Heaviest a mile south of me.

The lowlands are getting into a flash flood situation over the next 45 minutes. It's really coming down hard and it's not moving. The local South River watershed is going to be dumping water down towards 450 over the next several hours. Swwwwww... it's ripping. I'm seeing an increase in lightning flashes and thunder.

I was surprised to see a flood watch for DC, PG and Southern MD. I had to water the garden for the first time yesterday. I wouldn't mind a little flood later.

I just got done staining a beautiful wood deck. Today was the first day I had to implement heat safety rules. Lots of breaks and lots of water. The job today was in relentless sun on the sheltered side of the house. It was a summer wake up lol. My truck was reading 95 all the way from Ellicott City to Crofton area. The lowlands are baking.

It's been cloudy every morning for the past 3 months. I feel like i live alone the coast of California with June gloom. At least the wind isn't blowing 30-50 like usual.

Flash flood warning west of DC. Hopefully that juices up and gives the area a soaker this evening.

Starting to get some sun here in the lowlands. It's definitely feeling warmer in the past 20 minutes. Hopefully there's a few wedges later.

I haven't even turned the well on yet at my little farm spot. If it didn't rain this weekend I was going to turn it on. I had almost .40 yesterday and .03 today and it's raining as I type. I'm watching the radar to the SW. The lowlands might be in line for storms later.

It feels cooler and less humid than it did earlier. It feels like the stable air has made it to the lowlands.

It seems our force field is back up. Back to the area between Richmond and DC getting swamped while everyone else gets scraps. The most lightning I've seen this year was from a thundersnow storm in January. It's been extremely boring this spring. I'd love to get a thunderstorm today.

All it does is rain there during the warm season and snow during winter. Amazing climo lol. It looked like it wanted to rain here around 4:30 but it vanished as usual.

Back in high school lol. I just make edibles for evening walks these days. I'm actually happy about the warmer nights. My 16 tomato plants have been dormant since I planted them.

I hate working in the heat. Today was rough because I'm not use to it yet. It felt kinda good though. I chose to work outside so it is what it is. I just schedule shorter days and take more breaks. Shameless Plug: Softwashing commercial and residential buildings. Wood deck restoration . Paver restoration Stucco restoration.

I don't remember this smoke from Canada ever in my 46 years of life. Maybe the haze in the 90's was smoke? I'm definitely not saying it's some conspiracy. I'd like to know why now and never before. Or was i just not noticing it years ago? Cloudy with thick smoke and 56

I haven't planted my cucumbers yet. Too cold. My tomato plants look the same as they did when I planted them 3 weeks ago. Just a little more unhealthy due to cold nights. Potatoes and cannabis don't seem to mind cold windy springs.
