    COVID-19 Talk

I think you have just been added to the Phin shiithead list.
  2. I can understand putting a freeze watch in effect given the growing season has begun. I don't think the majority of the region(east of the mountains) will have much of a problem given the winds though. Temps of 32-35 with no frost won't be an issue. If the winds should go light for a time early Sat morning, then that obviously changes. Given the extended period of higher winds and low dew points, you would think there would be some fire weather concerns.
  3. It's possible if winds die down. Right now forecasts are for winds to be in the 15 mph range with gusts to 25. Without the mixing, temps could certainly get into the 28-32 range in some outlying areas.
  4. Absolutely, unless you are looking for the EPS goods.
  5. Not sure about it reaching freeze criteria, with decent winds continuing. Not likely to be any frost either. Low to mid 30s looks legit for areas away from the urban sprawl.
  6. Ah so you keep WB for tropical. That's cool. Not worth it for me. I don't pay enough attention during the summer. Free sites are plenty good.
  7. Its time for a big ol stout. WWS should do it. Happy Good Friday eve, Christians!

They are already vectors for plenty of other nasty shiit. COVID would probably be mild by comparison. I have to larvicide this time every year anyway. If I hit it at the right time(s) I wont see more than a few skeeters here and there through summer. It becomes intolerable by mid May if I don't. My mosquitoes are all home grown.
  9. ^Cant wait to see what these Maps look like in June. Never had any reason to look.
  10. I hit one going into Easton this morning, and then this one heading out. No shelf this time. Poured all the way up 309. I get home, and the ground is barely wet lol. The wind machine is cranking though.

it wont be needed to get back to some semblance of normalcy, but the modified "behaviors" will need to continue. I think most people will abide by it because of some residual fear and simply being used to doing it. I will be ready to roll. I am concerned about how long the travel restrictions will be maintained though. June - August is my time to travel. Also have friends scheduled to come here from across the pond in a couple months.
  12. I took a couple shots of the storm rolling in just as I was driving into Easton around 7 am. Pretty decent storm for being so early and temps in the low 50s. Some good T&L.
  13. Hard to believe- frozen is a long shot in the MA in mid April.
  14. Chilly for mid April around here is highs in the 50s- low 60s. Much rather that than a pattern that brings us 80s and humidity. Hopefully we can avoid a late freeze. A few nights in the 30s wouldn't hurt anything.

lol Notice no one said anything about it but him. No reason for him to swoop in and jump on his soapbox. It was the libtards who ran Mitch off the board ya know!!!
  16. I have plenty of the big ones, and they do make some serious noise. I had one collide with one of the big right triangle windows on my house years ago, and plopped down onto the deck. it was stunned/concussed and stayed there for hours. Got to see it up close. Woody woodpecker. It was impressive. Eventually it recovered and made its way to a nearby tree, then eventually flew off.

Yeah, I think we got it. Like the first 9 times you posted this. And..most of us here already knew and acknowledged all this, without you saying it ad nauseam. Got anything else?

Looks like baseball season will start soon, just not here. Might be a preview of how things will go here later in summer, assuming things progress according to the latest model projections. Can the U.S. return to sports soon? South Korea might offer clues https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/28998585/can-us-return-sports-soon-south-korea-clues

Wow that is quite a bit different. Lets hope this is how it plays out in reality.

One essential requirement for "reopening" the economy- which we still don't have- is widely available, fast testing. IMO it would be very difficult to execute otherwise.

I believe that's his code word for "librul".

It could happen in stages, but it will be a bit tricky to execute. Summer, people want to travel, good deals on airfare. NY may be approaching zero new cases by mid May, but here and other places that likely won't be the case.

There will be some hesitation but it wont take long. The tricky part is exactly when do we "reopen"? Maybe a good ol' early season heat ridge will help quell fears of a re occurrence as the cases dwindle.
