  1. Anyone wanna head down and skate amongst the trees? My non tidal wetland is frozen and as expansive as I have seen it this time of year. I better order an extra container of larvacide.
  2. Yeah I have seen the difference driving up to Westminster and then heading north towards Littlestown or Gettysburg and seeing the difference as you get north of Westminster, mainly with marginal events.
  3. Yeah I was just outside walking around the yard atop the glacier. Kinda cool but definitely slick.
  4. I lived on a local high spot when I was up there, on the east edge of Parrs, north of 26 and south of 32, and very close to to 97. Around 850 feet iirc. My memories of summers there were plenty of heat and humidity, but I suppose being a bit further north and a couple hundred feet higher can make some difference.
  5. Cool breeze might be taking it a bit far lol. There are no 'cool' breezes with temps in the 80s in July.. But any breeze is good when it's warm and humid as a mofo.
  6. I think stumbling/slipping/falling will occur easy enough without any adult beverage consumption lol.
  7. Thinking about going on a hike, but man this stuff is dense and slick. You literally walk on top.
  8. Beautiful day. Cold, bright, blue skies, and some actual wind. Wintry look and feel. Refreshing after so many cloudy, gray, foggy days with almost no air movement.
  9. Yeah it's nearly impossible to eradicate all the small areas where water sits in that setting. If you want to try to in your yard, other than the dunkers, this is the pro stuff- https://www.domyown.com/altosid-prog-mosquito-larvicide-p-243.html
  10. If I move, and I hope to in the near future, I am going high elevation micro climate if I stay at this latitude.
  11. The icy tree branches are glistening in the morning sun with a solid glacier of snow/sleet and ice on the ground. Wintry scene. Just seeing sun is nice lol. Damn it has been a cloudy run lately.
  12. The source for me is almost completely on the back side of my property, and is maybe an acre of area at its most expansive, so as long as I do the work in early Spring, I can pretty much mitigate an awful summer of skeeters. It usually dries up by early summer. Last year I did get the late summer tiger bastards, but that was a function of the incredible above normal wet period we had east of I-95.
  13. I will be ordering mosquito larvacide in the next week. My wetland is as wet as I have seen for this time of year, and with no super cold air this winter, if we get a week of 50s in March(good bet) they will be doing their thing.
  14. 25 here as well, although there has been a fair amount of cloud cover. Still not had a temp below 20 this winter. Tonight's forecast low is 18. I'll take the over.
  15. Stranger things have happened I guess. Not a great set up for the coastal plain with the low tracking over the GL and HP centered due east over the Atlantic. The way it could work is an initial slug of heavy precip partially mitigating/delaying the warming low and mid level temps. The upside is still less than an inch for my yard. Maybe this will be the odd case of something that looks all wrong synoptically working out lol.
  16. 0z EPS is a sheared out suppressed wave. Then the suppressive NS energy moves out, east coast ridges, while the trough digs out west. The next wave looks healthy, but warm. Still time for it to trend better I suppose, but the currently advertised look up top says not likely.
  17. It goes down nice and fast. Very good.
  18. Nice. I am actually not drinking a latte. I am sure you knew that.
  19. Who is drinking what? This is banter and it is Friday and it is HH. I am having a latte.
  20. You have nailed it my friend, in the correct order (most to least annoying), and the magnitude is nonlinear.
  21. Yeah how about an all snow, 6" event. Is that too much to ask?
  22. I admire your persistence. He hasn't posted here for ages, and when he comes back, its the same exact shit as before he left- despite you having already explained it in every way conceivable (and it isn't complicated) Good luck!
  23. There is no "debate". I wish he could resist. You would think he would know by now what a complete waste of time it is to engage you. There must be a hundred posts of him trying to explain to you that snow climo on the MA coastal plain sucks. It isn't rocket science. Find something more interesting to obsess over?
