  1. The big 3 global ensembles all have it for that timeframe. Most people are probably rooting against it being sustained, given the sensible weather it would likely produce this time of year.
  2. Here we go! This look might have been interesting a month earlier.
  3. 55 this morning and foggy. Looks like the first 80 degree day tomorrow. We will surely see a 90 in April.
  4. I get it, they are annoying. In many cases the requirement comes from local institutions and businesses. The school where I teach developed a COVID protocol based mostly on CDC guidelines, and has followed all state level mandates. Lecturing in a mask is not fun, but I do it, and given there are 12 people sitting in front of me who all come from different states, it seems the prudent thing to do for all involved. Also, there are other things the government requires me to do that I have bigger complaints about, but I wont go there lol.
  5. A head nod and a smile works too. I don't really care to get touchy feely with strangers so much.
  6. eff tradition. Wasn't the origin ancient Greece? What relevance does that have now? Plenty don't wash after grabbing their junk for a piss, or wiping their arse.. no thanks
  7. Looks like 1.85" is the total. 60 degrees at 8pm. Bring on the heat and the hot wind, I guess. Maybe we can dry up some of this mess.
  8. Mount Holly had a great discussion this morning, saying this had similarities to a PRE, similar the setup ahead of a tropical event. That low that was hanging off NC had some semi tropical characteristics before moving inland, and even though it weakened, it maintained a circulation and interacted with the front from the low well to the NW.
  9. There will be some people who choose to continue to wear them, and keep a distance from people in public settings, and that is fine. It will largely minimize odds of catching the common cold, and other highly contagious viruses like Noro. I haven't had a hint of anything for over a year, and that is unusual for me. Not hating that.
  10. Same here. It is pretty bizarre.
  11. Went from 0.82" to 1.48" quick. Well now I am not happy. I need to try another chair. Or bed. Or bowl of porridge. This ain't quite right.
  12. Oh stop with the piling on lol. He is the one who gets triggered and makes "venting" posts with political connotations. So, naturally people reply. BFD. He is a big boy. Everyone is tired of COVID and the restrictions, but we don't all piss and moan about it in banter constantly. Also kind of interesting that those who complain the most about not getting back to normal fast enough, aren't willing to get vaccinated.
  13. Deluge. Wrong thread I know, but I am drinking so this is the right thread.
  14. Can actually see a rotation on the radar. I think that remnant low that moved inland over NC is passing over on its way out. Last hurrah.
  15. All I know is it freaking pouring here again.
  16. You are reading way too much into it. It was a simple message of hope that things are trending back to normal. No one literally needs permission from the POTUS to gather in their yards with friends lmao. But go on with that narrative.
  17. This sounds pretty reasonable to me. Optimistic message. Very encouraging. Maybe he stopped short of encouraging a block party, lol. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-56368328
  18. We need more Dr. Seuss outrage posts. Those are way more entertaining.
  19. I think the difference is we are in late March, not June or July. March tends to be windy, but we don't always see the high dewpoints/instability. In this case the upper dynamics are going to pass pretty far north with the low, so precip chances are pretty paltry with meager pwats down here. We will be in a strong pressure gradient with the high building in behind though, so we get that warm, dry W/SW wind with some impressive gusts.
  20. 0.82" here so far. Hopefully not much more. Good drink for the grass/plants, but don't need the wetland to expand more. Good balance.
  21. Interesting read from Mt Holly
  22. Try some of the fruity/hazy NE style IPAs. Very drinkable and easy to acquire a taste for, and there are plenty around. Very popular.
  23. Brewdog Triple Hazy IPA for HH. Pretty good bang for the buck. 10% abv and 11 bucks for a 6 pack. Cant beat that. eta- I bought 6 of those for 11, and one DFH 120 min IPA for 9 today lol. Both good value at the respective price points. Apples and oranges.
  24. Ravens need to make this happen. Not the stud they need, but a major upgrade over the likes of Boykin, and wont break the bank. They cant head into the draft with what they have.
