  1. I would say November through February is pretty important....once we hit March, its pretty irrelevent.
  2. We had some bad luck that season, so maybe this year is a similar pattern with a some breaks.....we are due for some good fortune. I know that is highly anecdotal, but it does tend to even out over the long haul.
  3. You're a great guy, but I like you as a friend.
  4. I doubt it will be that bad....el nino isn't going to remain as east based as that blend IMO....I think I recall you even saying that yourself. I don't mean its going to be a blockbuster, but I doubt another record low snow season. I have had five consecutive solidly below normal snowfall seasons, which is unprecedented dating back to 1956. Tough to bet against you saying another shitter is coming, but I would have to imagine that this is the last one should that come to pass.
  5. That is what I do, but I sprint for more like a minute, and then jump off for like 30 seconds, then start jogging for about 30 sec before sprinting again....repeat for 20 minutes. On Sunday I just do a straight 50 min jog for cardio health.
  6. Man, this has devolved into a real lung measuring contest.
  7. I hit the treadmill 3x weekly.....2 20 min interval training sessions, and one steady 50 min jog.
  8. My trauma team told me that was why I shocked everyone with my recovery from a bad accident in 2010. I was right back in the GYM as soon as I could walk...they ripped my lat right out of me literally, put it back in.
  9. Resistance training the closest thing that we have to the fountain of youth.
  10. Yea, the elasticity is gone....we can do what we did when we were younger, but much more time needs to be spent on the ancillary, supportive prep in order to do it.
  11. Absolutely...not only does it improve mood, but it increases blood flow all throughout the body, including brain.
  12. I don't bench press bc of a bad wrist...partial fusion over 20 years ago. Just dumbbells up to about 90-100 for reps.....squat I'll go up up to about 360 for several reps (weigh 220). Strongest yet and will be 43 this fall, however, I need to do alot of stretching now vs in my 20s and 30s. I would just walk in the GYM and start lifting.....I need to stretch 30 minutes daily now, or I'll get hurt.
  13. Its a catch22...if are using good form, lifting actually protects against blowing out back and knees. Its great for bone density and tendon strength.
  14. I run right when I wake up on an empty stomach....reduces the risk of cramping and allows more burning of fat storages, as opposed to carbs.
  15. I do that with respect to cardio, but I lift after work. How I deal with having to lift after work is not go home. My GYM is equidistant to work and home and its on the way...so after work, I'll grab a bite, lift for 2-3 hours, then traffic is lighter by the time I hit the road again. I also only lift 3 days weekly, but they are intense sessions.
  16. I went strong as a first guess in my blog last week. I could see anywhere between 1.5 and 2 as a high end....but gun-to-head, I'd go under 2.0. The mid atlantic would take that....this season will be about the blocking. If can get the episodes that we did last season, then we should be good.
  17. How are you guys feeling about Saturday...I see showers, but does it look awful for outdoor activitites?
  18. I really like a slightly weaker version of the 2015-2016 el nino as an early guess at an analog. Exactly that orientation, but maybe 1.8- 2.0 peak ONI instead of 2.6.
