Don't like it either. I think their regular site's alleged maintenance is more of a "let's shove Beta down their throats" as I'm thinking most still prefer the original site. Beta seems like a nod to TT and WB in format.

Kev, the pint is, the growing season is over in 95% of SNE. No badge of honor, just a fact that it’s frosted. You have to let us know how you got 3.5” in a marginal event, in the early season, due to your elevation. That will melt away by afternoon. While we got a sloppy half inch to maybe an inch. Is that a badge of honor for you? I’ll say no, but it is what it is. You can’t buy a frost in October/early November, while the majority of the area has had 3-4. Just different microclimates. That’s all. But don’t try and lump in the majority of SNE into the NO frost category, because you haven’t had one.
-
That might be a record for LWX, and I'm being partially serious lol
-
It’s cool. Nobody is saying that. But most of SNE has had a frost . That’s a fact. He has not that is true. But his statement about many places not having a frost, is incorrect. That’s the only point.
-
Takes some getting used to. Was playing around with it today at work. It has some value, but there's a few things I'd like to see adjusted. Going to send a feedback email to the development team there on Friday when I'm not on an operation shift.

I said near the coast. Most of the south shore not on the beach has. Rt 3 corridor was in the 20s.

ALEET ALEET!!! Mammoth got 1-2 inches of snow today!!! https://www.mammothmountain.com/on-the-mountain/mammoth-webcam/mccoy-station They are in for more snow tonight and tomorrow! FIRST STORM OF THE SEASON! Looks like the Summit at 11000 feet picked up 2-3 inches! https://www.mammothmountain.com/on-the-mountain/mammoth-webcam/the-summit Unbound got 1-2 inches, they are at about 9500 feet https://www.mammothmountain.com/on-the-mountain/mammoth-webcam/unbound-main-park

People get so excited about fake frosty cold nights . Like it’s a badge of honor . I mean 98% of posters here would take colder daytime highs and elevation snow in marginal events over a fake 29 degree morning in Roctober . It’s such an odd phenomenon these guys get into
-
What ? The entire E MA coast has not
-
Beer? HFD, ORH, HVN , Portland , BDR, BOS, PVD.. I mean we could name them all night
-
Almost historical. Check out the radar presentation of this supercell in North Phoenix. and the hail it produced.
-
He’s just messing around. Got us engaged and chatting, ha. I find his particular hilltop climate fascinating to be honest.
-
Of course they have. Sure, there are a few places that have escaped so far, but 90% plus of SNE have frosted.
-
Most places near the coast have had a frost at least.

Fall 2026 Medium/Long Range Pattern Thread

Looks like could pick up rain chances as well late oct and maybe early nov . -
Yup. His ideas on these things are skewed badly. If he hasn’t frosted, then most haven’t frosted lol. I’d say 5 miles from the coast. We’ve frosted a few times, with a freeze too. Most places have frosted.
- Today
-
I wonder how far from the coast that extends… like 10 miles? Less? Seems like all the airport ASOS’s have except BOS and PVD? I guess ORH probably hasn’t too.
-
What downtown areas? Most away from immediate water, have frosted. I was downtown in my town at 2:00 am Sunday morning, and it was 30 degrees.

2026-2027 Record-breaking El Nino
GaWx replied to Stormchaserchuck1's topic in Weather Forecasting and Discussion
It appears per models that due to a combo of a large Tahiti SLP rise/smaller Darwin fall and despite it being way down at -43 today, it should break the very long current -SOI streak and go positive by ~Oct 25th. That means that the current -SOI streak would end near 74 days. -
1,100ft here and frozen solid nightly. Narrow it down to like 950ft to 1,025ft . Lasts a long time in the shade.
-
Other than that, The majority of the area …the growing season has been over for a while now.
-
And most downtown areas and all coasts . A lot have not
-
-
Yeah everyone between 900ft and 1200ft is frost free.
-
I'm not sure either, I just went with it.....mayeb he'll be brave enough to try and let us know if he survives.
