  7. 9. The model progs are suggesting a shot at a 1017 mb Darwin SLP on June 7th. If that occurs, it would easily become the new highest Darwin SLP that early in the year based on records back to 1992. The current record highest that early in the year is 4/22/2023’s 1016.2 mb. If it reaches 1017, it would become the earliest 1017 on record by ~15 days!
  10. Tried to look at the 500mb to get a better answer. As others in this thread have said the basic issue is we are stuck in a NW flow pattern. The maps (one from our rainy week a couple weeks ago and one from a day ago) show the difference This one clearly shows a southeast ridge with a ULL in the plains which helps transport moisture up the east coast and wring it out. Clearly, this is the pattern we need to get some rain. Notice the wind barbs out of the southeast from the Gulf. Meanwhile, this is the pattern we get. Beautiful weather but no moisture to be found in the upper air (unless you're hoping the Great Lakes save us). You can see the ULL over Maine with a ridge over the center of the country. Now, the question is will things actually change? Using the EPS to look forward and its not great. The forecast through at least next week is paltry with the upper air moisture transport as a ridge intensifies to our north. However, by mid month the pattern starts to breakdown and we see a more favorable setup return. The GEFS suggests a similar reshuffling that helps us out as well. In the meantime, we're sorta cooked.
  11. ICONoclastic model's settin up a blistering heat wave June 9-10-11 ... just like the original non-linear telecon signal had from last week. This is the 12z next Wed ... notice 570+dm with lee side trough? this is 90+ incoming
  12. I’m super cautious as well, especially considering what we went through with the previous dog. Vet told us the same thing. Monitor over the next hour and if we notice her becoming in discomfort to bring her to the ER, otherwise we can wait until the 3:30 appointment. Also said to give her 25mg of Benadryl.
  13. Sickest I’ve seen my lab was multi-day vomiting and needing an IV to replenish fluid and get her to stop puking… all because she had to go roll and drink a bunch of multi-week stagnant water that had turned orangish green with algae and other bacteria. She couldn’t have been prouder. Then couldn’t have been sicker. Like within an hour of doing that, and coming out covered in orangish algae, she was done for.
  14. plus...dogs deliberately seek out and dive slide through garbage ...like dirty diaper and moldy mack and cheese mixed with cigar ash dumpster phage ...
  15. Haha yeah my dog just cost $400 past two weeks in ear infections because she’s a lab and that’s what they do. I will say, I would probably just monitor the hives unless the following below are present … but my wife would absolutely take the dog to the vet, haha. If the dog wasn’t feeling discomfort, sick, or raspy breathing, I’d wait but my wife would want to rush to the Vet to be sure. To each their own. While mild hives and raised hackles will typically resolve on their own within 24 to 72 hours, you should contact your veterinarian if you notice any of the following symptoms: [1] Swelling on the face, muzzle, or eyes Lethargy, vomiting, or difficulty breathing The raised spots are spreading, blistering, or causing your dog intense itching The bumps do not go away after 2-3 days.
  16. I wonder if a sting or the grass. The vet just texted back saying it may be hives too. We can bring her in for 3:30. What an expensive day…$2000 to get my AC fixed and I’m sure this will be a couple hundred bucks
  17. Incredible nighttime temp disparities last night. Bittinger mesonet site in Garrett County dipped to 38 degrees, while Frostburg only got down to 51. Further east, the urban heat island effect was very evident in Baltimore. Towson cooled to 50 degrees, while Baltimore City's Montebello station only drifted down to 61.
  18. Quick search would lead me to believe hives. Raised fur but smooth skin. First pup cup could be cause, might be something in that she’s sensitive to. As long as her breathing and other functions seem fine, I’d just monitor it. Could give Benadryl if concerned, but I would call Vet before hand as dosage is weight dependent. Hives (Allergic Reaction): This is the most common reason for bumps that feel like raised fur but have smooth skin underneath. It usually occurs as a reaction to an insect bite, or a new environmental trigger (e.g., pollen).
  19. Yup. I rubbed my hands across and didn’t feel anything lumpy. A friend of mine said shedding but there’s no loose hair or hair coming off easily and it’s just that side.
  20. I am wondering if it’s a grass allergy (though she’s been rolling around in the grass for the few weeks we’ve had her). She did eat a pup cone a few hours ago which is a peanut butter flavor. Was thinking bee sting but the skin doesn’t have any bumps. It’s just the fur
  21. Yeah or did she roll or lay in something that irritated the skin on that side. I wouldn’t be too worried. But sometimes a quick trip to the vet is the best for your own mental well-being.
  22. hives? maybe allergic to something she ate or got into? try and shave off some of the fur and see what the skin looks like..or just take to vet
  23. Texted the vet but a little worried. Never saw this. I was going to google it too but every time you google this stuff the return is usually some doom and gloom worst case scenario
