We're literally in a (the 6th) mass extinction period. Media didn't make that up, homeboy. The only thing not agreed upon (yet) is how long until we reach critical species loss. -
2025-2026 ENSO

They have had pretty decent success the last few years. I believe they kept showing cold in 23-24 that never panned out, but Gawx has been posting long range ACE forecasts and they have been very good over the last 2 years. It nailed a few Stratosphere warmings in early 2024. -

2025-2026 ENSO
Stormchaserchuck1 replied to 40/70 Benchmark's topic in Weather Forecasting and Discussion
That's a really good point -- the total N. Hemisphere 500mb pattern has been a very close match for October and November this year, about as close as it gets. Going forward, December typically holds the November -NAO, then the NAO switches to positive for January and February -
How much weight do you give them if they run daily?

It’s been a great autumn in that regard for sure. Personally, I feel it’s exactly how autumn in SNE/NE should be. And yes, nothing is believable at this stage…and even if it’s upon us, there is no guarantee as we all know, that snow/or even storms come out of it. That’s the crazy nuances that make snowfall potential so hard to pin down here-good pattern or otherwise. -

Wow, what a battle on here today/tonight. We really need something to track ASAP. We're all gonna return to dust soon anyway. No point in getting all worked up over something we have no control over. The rest of the world would have to get on board with curbing emissions which is never gonna happen. -
I'm excited for everyone for the upcoming event. Unfortunately I'll be headed to South America over the weekend so I won't be home to take it all in. Hope y'all get slammed!

No, your villainizing the wrong person They were talking about climate change, and the usual suspects were in this denial mode again. I asked them salient questions, based upon incontrovertible logic and actual science already proven…and then was called an asshole by Steve for it Sorry, I was triggered I wasn’t talking about fucking temperature trends. And I’m still pissed off they can both go to f hell -
Man I’m excited. Heading up next week and there’s snow showers in the forecast each day. I’ve been lurking in the main ENSO thread in the forum and it seems like the models have a good pattern for the east in December that’s pretty consistent with a weak Nina. I can’t buy any pattern at this range but I love our fall step down this year and appreciate not looking at a close the shades Pacific pattern setting up.

Oh I agree. Tippy’s posts are what’s wrong with the discussion for sure. And exactly why we apparently cannot talk about temperature trends on a weather forum. That exchange was exactly why we can’t have nice things anymore. Like I said, Men in Black pens, erase everyone’s memories of ties to politics with temperatures trends and I bet we would all have a much better, sound, respectful dialogue. -
