I’d bet that fails tomorrow . 40’s sure

You caution flag every snowstorm yet all systems go for a major torch in all of New England in early Morch  which obviously has a very low chance . But not impossible

Because we have hundreds of miles of real estate where fronts can move and we still torch. The sweet spot of a snow event is 50 miles wide.

What do you honestly expect? 30s and rain every day?

That’s really the question… I mean, even if it fails at 60s or 70s… it’s still pretty mild at 50s.   It’s not like it’s going to be 38F instead of 65F.

It’s a defense mechanism like in December when he couldn’t imagine a snow event affecting him. Either he’s correct or pleasantly surprised.

It’s nothing to do with that . I honestly am highly skeptical of this long torch or 70’s. Nothing more nothing less . I thought this winter would snow but not to extent that it did and did not expect a coastal. And we had 1 .. last week

I expect a few days of 50s to low 60s and then depending on how much the pack is ravaged we may pop a bigger day or two.

You know... The models of all consistently been showing something around this time with the very warm temperatures. We'll see early next week, this will be the snapback- rubber band effect. Could be something to end winter. Let's go out with the bang!!

Of course it could end up 38° here everyday while it’s 70° SOP

You called for a below average snow winter, with a quick end by February, and no big storms.  And we had two already.  Dendy informed me that back in the day, the monster SWFE snow storm in late January, would have been labeled a coastal/nor’easter back then.  So you can say we had two coastals.

For me it's 20% data and 80% subjective. :D   I don't mind the cold as much as do normal people, I like a sustained decent pack and dislike winter rain.  Snowfall to date is within a fraction of an inch of the 27-year average YTD.  It's been very dry (DJF 6.84", only 48% of avg and our lowest by 1.80") but the freaky ratios of Jan 25-27 turned 0.77" LE into nearly 20".  The Feb blizzard, 0.2" - can't in them all.

All this adds up to slightly above average, so far.  March is generally either wonderful or woeful - not many in the middle.

Ya I hate winter rain and we didn’t have much of it this year, that was nice.

That was not a coastal . There was nothing remotely resembling a coastal in that . It was a glorified warm front into a frigid dome .

In 1885 if they got 20” with NE winds they’d be calling it a nor’easter. That’s all I implied.
