Progression of the ridging doesn't dig as much this go which is nice to see minimum. This is by hr 78. Everything pushed eastward by a good bit compared to 12z.

GFS doesn't have the precip in central NC until Saturday evening.

GFS continues to do what i thought it would do. Slowly trended north each run today. The system is just to amped and brings to much warm air aloft.

Snowmen are pretty much an extinct creature in North Carolina. Sledding on the other hand very much on the table. Pulling for sleet hard right now. Precipitation that’s available remains large and we absolutely cannot afford to have that be mostly freezing rain

Towards the latter part of the gfs with the Low leaving, it actually trended colder with back end snow.

I think something like the GFS could happen for Wake north in NC with switching back and forth from snow, sleet and freezing rain, depending on the rates.

Switches most of NC over to snow Sunday night. Much much different look than the amped models. This is a good run, no low cutting up the apps and look what happens with thermals on the backside!!!

I’m surprised you’re not jumping all over the gfs here. That was a beat down at least with the WAA. That’s how our area can win at least.

Structurally things looked improved but the 850mb winds were screaming even harder out of the south there so stronger warm nose despite the south/weaker jump.

Yeah, that is probably the best case scenario, and really how a lot of our winter storms are, with back and forth with precip types.

People up north aren't going to like this run. Clearly gets routed/sheared East. Lots of backside action in NC. 12z had a similar situation but not as pronounced

The Wake County gradient looks legit with 2 to 7 inches.

Idk, that has kinda been jumping around a bit on GFS depiction. To me that was more noise than a trend
