Had an excellent rainfall month (8.59”) but we’ve gone since July 21 without measurable rain since and it’s gotten crispy My area stuck at .43" since June 21...yes, .43. With the heat too, we are crispified. My lawn is gone, no mowing needed this week.

Think you also said “once the pattern breaks I bet it doesn’t rain for months” or something to that extent. Good call

Although this weekend looking cool and wet. Edit....It's raining!
yotaman
High of 91. Had a nice downpour around 2 am or so that put another .30" in the bucket.
olafminesaw
Greensboro's all time record max min is likely to be set for a single month, the lowest it has dropped was 68 degrees which would beat the old record of 67 set in 2016 and 2015 (July as well). We are only +2 on the month, I think that the lack of a break from the heat/humidity is what has made this July feel worse than the last few. suzook
Wow! Finally! Picked up 1.85" of rain last night. Crazy amount of lightning and thunder for 3 hours. Weather looks unstable for the next few days with a real cool down this weekend.
SUNYGRAD
Last night my family took this pic at Cherry Grove, SC, and a few blocks from ocean. Note the streak and bright light, with lightning in distance. They saw some really cool meteors. 5
NorthHillsWx
RAH has really backed off rain chances for triangle north today. 80% to 40%. Really need a good soaking 2 weeks without rain with daily temps around 100 has turned it extremely dry in a hurry. Went from not watering the first 3 weeks of the month to barely able to keep the zoysia happy with daily watering
Silver Meteor
Closing out the month here in Greenville, NC with the most hideous dew point I've ever seen: 1

NorthHillsWx
Only made it to 91.6 today. No measurable rainfall so we finish with 8.59” despite no rain the last 10 days of the month. Highest temp was 98.
cbmclean
Got a disappointing 0.13" today. Unless something pops up unexpectedly before midnight, I will end up with 3.43" for the month: 0.57" less than I got on the single day of June 16th. It was a month of fringing and crumbs, with my biggest catch only 0.75" on July 27th. ETA: Ended up with an extra 0.02" before midnight, for monthly total of 3.45". GaWx
I had 8.25” of rainfall in July. That’s a bit above the July climo average of ~6-7” for the area. Most of this fell just during July 9-13, during which I had moderate flooding in my garage as well as some water splashing under the door and into my foyer. The hottest I saw on my thermometer was 98.7.
yotaman
My month end stats: Highest temp: 98 Lowest temp: 70 Highest dew point: 87 Note: Highest real feel temp was 132 Lowest dew point: 69 Rainfall: 6.20" unless the storms to my hold together and give us more. Update may come tomorrow.

GaWx
1 hour ago, WinstonSalemArlington said: Y’all average 6-7” of precipitation in July???!!! Yes due largely to collisions with seabreeze along with high moisture levels. I’m talking about my home, which is not as far inland as the airport and thus gets slightly more on avg…see darker shading nearer to coast. Our area gets avg summer rain that’s double+ avg winter rain. July/Aug are our 2 rainiest on avg. Normal July rain:
