Jns2183
So a few weeks ago I was complaining about how I thought this being the most humid summer I can possibly remember. Well I came across this article from a few days ago basically detailing that a lot of states have had their most humid summer ever recorded with dew points 6 degrees higher than the 1951-2020 average. That's actually insane. https://www.wtnh.com/news/national/feel-sticky-this-summer-its-been-record-muggy-in-the-northeast/ "More than 70 million Americans sweated through the muggiest first two months of summer on record Parts of 27 states and Washington, D.C., had a record amount of days that meteorologists call uncomfortable — with average daily dew points of 65 degrees Fahrenheit or higher — in June and July, according to data derived from the Copernicus Climate Service. And that’s just the daily average. In much of the East, the mugginess kept rising to near tropical levels for a few humid hours. Philadelphia had 29 days, Washington had 27 days and Baltimore had 24 days where the highest dew point simmered to at least 75 degrees, which even the the weather service office in Tampa calls oppressive, according to weather service data. The summer of 2025 so far has had dew points that average at least 6 degrees higher than the 1951-2020 normals in Washington, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Richmond, Columbus and St. Louis, the AP calculations show. The average June and July humidity for the entire country east of the Rockies rose to more than 66 degrees, higher than any year since measurements started in 1950. The area east of the Rockies has on average gained about 2.5 degrees in summer dew point since 1950, the AP analysis of Copernicus data shows. In the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and part of the 1990s, the eastern half of the country had an average dew point in the low 60s"This article has lots and lots of issues. Namely ones they have exact reading for and ones they assume from some calculation which is why I hate this. They assume an orange is an apple without proving an orange is an apple. Blizzard of 93
This little meandering rain shower just to the north of Harrisburg can’t make its mind up on which direction that it wants to go this evening. Marysville got .13 of rain so far today.

Voyager Posted yesterday at 09:55 AM Author Share Posted yesterday at 09:55 AM I wake up to see I missed again. An overnight storm complex left southwestern Schuylkill County in a flood warning this morning. Some personal weather stations recorded as much as 4 inches of rain. Sadly, it drifted southeast into Berks County.
Mount Joy Snowman Posted yesterday at 11:59 AM Share Posted yesterday at 11:59 AM Low of only 73. Looks like some relief is on the way for the start of the work week.
ChescoWx Posted yesterday at 12:55 PM Share Posted yesterday at 12:55 PM Yesterday was our warmest day so far this month with a couple spots even reaching 90 degrees for the first time in August. Today may be a couple degrees cooler before again reaching well into the 80's on Sunday. We then see a front swing through on Sunday night and behind this we turn much cooler for the rest of the week with high temperatures remaining in the 70's by day and upper 50's to lower 60's by night. Slight chances of showers most days of the week with the greatest chances by Tuesday night into Wednesday.

canderson
I’m at .2 since July 10. Everything is dying fast. Had my roof redone 2 weeks ago and would love rain to help wash any remnants out of the gutters.

mahantango#1
Could it be that our beloved heat and everyone's favorite high dewpoints are gone? This would be catastrophic for some of us. From NWS State College: Today will likely be the warmest day in the next 7 (maybe for the rest of the month?) with max temps peaking +5-10 degrees above the historical average for mid/late August in the mid 80s to low 90s across the central ridges and mid/lower Susquehanna Valley.
ChescoWx
Today will be our 6th straight above normal temperature day. It will also be our last such day for at least the next week as we should see temperatures at or below normal levels much of the time. It looks like we have a good chance at finishing August with below normal temperatures. If so this would be the 4th below normal month over the first 8 months of the year. We could see some rain and thunderstorms especially this evening with the cold frontal passage. The line should move west to east across the area between 6pm and 8pm. Any storms could produce a 1/4" to 1/2" of much needed rain as we have had very little rain across the northern parts of Chester and SE Berks counties so far here in August. I couldn't be more opposite than most of you, mahantango not included. This post, the one above it, and the fact that some trees are changing color here, is a bit depressing.
