ChescoWx
The NWS has the next 5 days here in East Nantmeal with forecast high temperatures over 90 degrees. I have been taking observations here for 22 summers since 2004. I have only experienced a "heat wave" (3 consecutive days of 90+ temps) but 5 times. 2006 / 2008 (2x) / 2010 and the last time in 2020. In each of those years we only saw 3 straight days with 90 plus readings. Other high elevation spots in the county including Atglen and West Grove has also seen very few defined "heat waves". This week sure looks likely to even in these higher spots result in at least 3 straight days of heat.
ChescoWx
More detail on the other Chester County sites where heat waves are rare. At West Grove with data since 2009 there have also only been 5 heat waves. With those occurring in 2011 / 2012 (2x) / 2013 and the last time in 2018. Also over in Atglen with records since 2012 - only 3 heat waves in the last 13 summers occurring in 2013 / 2023 and 2024.
ChescoWx
Glenmoore with records back to 2012 has recorded 7 heat waves in the last 13 summers. Those occurring in 2013 / 2016 / 2020/ 2022 and 3 times just last summer in 2024.

canderson
4 hours ago, Itstrainingtime said: MRGL risk of severe thunderstorms tomorrow. That came out of nowhere. The upper levels are wild. Were today and will be through Tuesday. Nothing should get pushed but if so isolated damaging wind is likely. That derecho out in ND had 105 mph straight line winds (outside the massive tornadoes). That’s partially over us.
canderson
I’m not convinced Monday or Tuesday I get below 80.
Yardstickgozinya
So as it turns out, this is all associated with the thunderstorm complex dropping out of new york, pretty nasty one too with a bookend vortices atm. https://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/outlook/day1otlk.html
