I’ve got more junk down in the yard from today’s thing-a-ma-jig than Thursday’s storm. Looks like clouds will clear out in the next few hours. Can we make a late day run at 90F?

My temp finally recovered and I think 88 (finally hit around 6:30 pm) will be my final high for today, meaning starting over for tallying days towards an "official" heatwave IMBY (had a 90 yesterday). Ended up with 0.05" of rain from that band.

Currently 87 with dp 78, so back in the oven again.

ETA - was looking at the afternoon AFD and there was a mention of a pressure fall/rise and I did see that.

Heat index is past 100 and it’s not even 11 yet. How do people in the south deal with this crap for 3 months straight?

I think it’s worse up here. I worked with people that grew up and lived in Fla and I could see the defeated by our heat up here

The sun angle is lower in Florida in the summer

Definitely worse in Florida.  Today is damn near every day in the summer down there.  Last time I was there in the summer, the heat index was 125F with a dew in the upper 80's.  Central Florida, not coastal.

The days are shorter, but the sun angle is still higher.
