E PA/NJ/DE Summer 2025 Obs/Discussion

After the fog burns off this morning we should see some sun returning this afternoon before more showers arrive after 8pm this evening. We should be much warmer and humid compared to yesterday's near record low maximum temperatures. We should see readings a few degrees above normal in the mid to upper 80's. Sunnier tomorrow with less humidity and temperatures near today's levels. Next rain chances arrive by Monday night and into Tuesday morning. Sunny weather returns by Wednesday with temperatures next week close to normal levels for early July. No sign of any 90-degree readings across Chester County for at least the next week to 10 days.

That’s so funny. I am actually 4.37”. Berks and Lancaster counties have been the winners over the last few days.

We picked up just 0.05" of rain last night with the thundershower that rolled through. Today looks sunny and dry with temperatures a few degrees above normal in the mid to upper 80's. We remain humid. Shower chances increase by tomorrow afternoon and evening. We then look dry and mostly sunny for the remainder of the week with highs not too far from average for the start of July with temperatures in the mid 80's. No significant heat with highs in the 90's for at least the next week to 10 days.

Another warm and humid day with temperatures well up into the 80's. Rain chances are increasing tonight and through tomorrow. Some spots could pick up another 1" to 2" adding on to our rain surplus so far here in 2025. We turn a bit more comfortable with lower humidity and temperatures not far from normal for early July as we head toward the holiday weekend.

Got a little popup storm moving up from Delaware that has prompted a severe tstorm warning. Looks like a crawler, could get some rain - it's been on the light side here too lately. 87°F currently.

Rocking and rolling with lots of thunder to my south but rising up to almost here.

After a low of 73, it actually hit 94 here before the clouds started rolling in.

Currently overcast and 83 with dp 75.

EDIT - rain is here.  Just tipped the bucket to 0.01".

Rain tapering now.  Was up to 1.63"/hr at one point and currently have 0.44" in the bucket.   Temp got knocked down almost 20 degrees from my high of 94 today and it's currently raining lightly with temp of 73 and dp 73.

With the dribs and drabs for June, I ended up with 3.62" for the month (so far).

Northeast philadelphia at my work. The gusts were very strong! Some hail and heavy sideways rain. It lasted a good 10 minutes before it passed.

Plenty of thunder and some wind, but nothing more than passing drizzle. Still, it was enough to knock my temp down to 81F.

My round 1 ended up being the 0.44" but then I had a mini round 2 that gave me a couple hundredths more so currently have 0.46" in the bucket.  Looks like a round 3 is incoming in the next hour or two if it holds together.  Have been checking out the TORs that keep popping up down in MD north of Baltimore.

Currently overcast and 77 with dp 77.

This last batch has been carrying on for a while now. Steady rain, lots of lightning and thunder, for the last hour. Letting up now but did pick up 0.40" of rain from it.

I have 0.35” from multiple rounds this evenung. I was hoping to hit 5” for the month but will fall just short.

Constant lightning and a steady rumble to the SW. Been awhile since we’ve had a good nighttime show like this.

Insane amount of CGs with this storm. Most are buried in the rain but some are peeking out and putting on a hell of a show.

Without a doubt the craziest lightning storm in years around here!!! Lightning just struck less than 1/4 mile from me and it’s just a constant barrage of CGs. This is just ridiculous!
