My area had still another ~2” of rain mainly early this morning per rain gauge and Cocorahs. This brings 48 hour totals up to ~5” and 96 hour totals up to 6”+! I even had some water in my garage though not too bad.

Pretty underwhelming here with zero heavy rain to speak of. Just 0.46” of steady light to occasionally moderate rain. Excellent all day soaking rain though

At KSAV (airport), rainfall is already up to a whopping 7.9” for May 1-12! That’s over 6 times the normal for that period and more than double the normal for the full month. It is already up to 9th wettest May on record back to the 1870s and 2nd wettest to 1915 for the wettest May 1-12 on record. There remains lots of standing water in low spots, including the back portion of MBY.

Other than the flooding in some low areas, this has been quite beneficial since the area had just been in a moderate drought per the monitor.

Road closures throughout the Coastal Empire caused by flooding:

CANDLER COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) – After weekend storms, many roads are still washed out or impassable in rural parts of the Coastal Empire, like Bulloch, Tattnall and Candler counties.

WSAV visited Candler County Monday and found several dirt roads flooded with ankle-deep water as well as significant infrastructure damage in some areas.

When asked about the flooding Candler County Sheriff John Miles said, “We’ve seen between five and ten inches of rain, and what that did was impact a lot of our county roads. We had some roads that were just muddy, and we had some roads that were almost completely washed out.”

Pretty good storms this afternoon. 0.78” so far brings us to 2.10” since Sunday. Still raining and hasn’t stopped thundering for a couple hours

Edit: Finished with 0.94” from multiple storms today. “Event” total since Sunday up to 2.26”

Had 1 heck of a thunderstorm today. Not much wind but it produce quarter sized hail and torrential rains as well as vivid lightning. Ended up with .92" from it. That was the biggest and most hail I have seen in over 6 years.

So weekend looking iffy around the ATL area. Rained the last 2 weekends, and this one looking borderline again. Not a washout, but could definitely ruin some outdoor plans. Have a great holiday weekend everyone. Lets all remember what this weekend represents. We owe our freedom to all those who served.

We’re about to get blasted with a strong thunderstorm. The CTG lightning is bad.

Edit: 2:39PM:

A little late for this imho. Here it is already starting to let up. I’ll reiterate that the CTG lightning has been very frequent and nearby (worst in a long time). The rain has been torrential, leading to my street flooding and a little water coming in near both edges of the garage door, but the winds haven’t been high. I didn’t spot any hail, but I could have missed it:

The first storm appears to have produced ~1.5” within a short period.

A 2nd thunderstorm started here ~10 minutes ago producing some heavy rain and once again plentiful CTG lightning. This is on the northern end of a line moving eastward. Just to my south this line has been severe warned.
