Looks like last minute trends are slightly nudging the heavy axis a little more north.  Seeing more outputs of 12”  for cmh.

Since ‘08! Let’s go!!! That was in March too so it was gone in like 3 days.

Yea I was trying to think of our last 10”+ snowstorm.   18 years, sheesh

There may have been one of 10+ since then but it wasn’t memorable.

Found this posted by Gelber (who BTW, is going conservative right now of 7-10 for central Ohio):

The last time the Columbus area had upwards of 8-10" of snow was conincidentally Jan. 25-26 and Feb. 3-4, 2014, in the frigid winter remembered for a polar vortex visit.

I remember we had back to back big snows during that period.  Didn’t realize it was that much.

Hopefully we avoid the dreaded WToD! Hard to believe it's a concern with this polar air in place!

I think we can rule out any worry about that.  Even the nam barely gets sleet north of the Ohio river.  And this set up is a little bit of a different animal than we’re used to.

usually on these things at this time out, we’re nervously watching the models pull the sleet line up to i70.

It appears that all of the models (maybe not the NAM, I didn't look closely at it yesterday b/c it's always juiced)--- seeing QPF trending up.... .9 (Fri).... 1.2-1.4 (Today) --- and finally slotted properly to avoid the WTOD (well to ESE of Cincy)

To get us warmed up I found this in my camera roll from December 5 2007. I'm just east of OSU airport. I'd say that's close to 10 inches.

Thinking some pretty long standing streaks for Columbus might fall this weekend. From Wilmington's Significant Event Archive, the last 6" snow was 2/21/15, last 8" snow was 2/5/14, and last 10"+ was 2/5/10. Crazy that even Gulf states have had a more recent major snowfall than Columbus.

Here's been my call since yesterday. Will be interesting to see what happens in SE Ohio. Think they get minimum 6" regardless but if they can avoid sleet and zr, think they could push 20"

I am not a big fan of weather apps, but thought it was funny that 11 days ago, TWC app had 11-16 inches of snow for our area. I know this b/c I was traveling & my wife took pics of the forecast & texted them to me. It of course lost that look for a while.
