Left, bounced off the hillside and shot across the green leaving me about 15’ for birdie. And I made the putt.

Excellent!! Was going to say that pin is tucked right. I’d be aiming 15’ left.

I’ve been hooking irons off the tee and that’s what happened here. It was a good sideboard I guess. My playing partner hit a much better shot but landed it in a spot where it didn’t hold the green. Didn’t play awful but I thought the greens were very inconsistent. Missed multiple putts that I thought “broke the wrong way”. For example on one hole, my group all had the same line, 3 out of four broke right to left but mine broke to the right. #inconsistent

Do they still have that blind shot where you're almost hitting off a cliff?

First times are tough. I played TPC Norton for the first time on Thursday. I had been there to watch events but until you play a course you don't really know. Shot a 90 which wasn't that bad considering I'm a 14 handicap. But I was hitting the ball better than usual.

Golf is a funny game. Played Lochmere on Thursday and my swing felt like ass - 82. Played Sky Meadow yesterday, swing felt really good - 86.
SJonesWX
I played in a charity tournament yesterday. My first time swinging clubs in several years. I had plenty of shitty shots, but also had some really solid shots. My 7 and 9 irons (and the PW) were hitting beautifully. I dropped one 130ish yard 7 iron shot about 6’ from the pin, and stuck the landing. Those are the shots that keep you coming back. Don’t ask about my drives, they were all over the place. Oh and I am playing 50-60 year old clubs that were hand me downs many years ago. They are not the slightest bit forgiving. Wilson Staff, they were the best clubs a very long time ago. I've wanted to play Bretwood but have never got around to it. Report back when you do. Played here a couple of weeks ago. Neshobe Golf Club They just hosted the New England Amateur. It had been quite a few years but I really enjoyed it. I broke 90 too so that's always a bonus.

IT When you look back at the great golfers of the 60s and 70s they played with wooden clubs, the irons weren't as advanced as today and those guys could hit the ball a long ways.

Doesn't look like it it's going to be.
