Have been thinking and doing some prep since Wednesday, have a small generator that can run some things but not an electric heater.  Have a wood fireplace so stocked there.  Had an indoor propane heater on order for delivery today, but got notice yesterday, out of stock and order cancelled.  Think I might be out of luck trying to find a Mr. Buddy portable propane heater around town.

Is there a general consensus for start time for RVA?  My wife will be driving back from NJ Saturday afternoon.  If I recall it looked like start times ranges from 7pm-midnight on most models.

 

ETA:  I checked the most recent models (GFS, euro, nam).  Looks like this timeframe is still valid between the 3.

She should be fine, seems to be pushing to a later start, it was 6PM at our best forecast, but thinking it's looking more like 8PM or later now, and she should not be running into any of it along the way, as should reach here first before further up 95.

These things usually start an hour or two early

either way she should be fine with all the salt on 95.

Agree 8ish seems most likely. That can change though

It's pretty much a sleet fest for most. Quick thump before changeover to sleet and stays sleet for most.

yup probally a quick 2-4 then a ton of sleet and hopefully not freezing rain
