I'm in gibsonia noaa just up my totals 1-3 today -1 inch late eve. I want enough to take kids sled riding tonight. How much u think we need for sled riding 2 or 3 or 4 ?

I think 2 inches will be enough to sled ride.  I think those in NAGC have a better chance at getting close to 3 inches based on the short term models.

One thing to watch after this point during this storm is Sunday, a few model runs (todays 12z GFS included) have shown a wave developing on the front which slides up gives us another round of moderate snow as the arctic air spills back in.

Beat ya to it... :)  Nice to have snow to track every couple days.

Yep!

I'm not wild about the fact that most of what we get this week stands to get obliterated Saturday night in the warm sector, but you take what you can get in a less than optimal pattern. Curious to see how today pans out and if we do get any squall activity Thursday.

Not looking good at this point Christmas week to hold onto any snow pack if any makes it past Saturday.  I know op models need taken with grain of salt but both CMC and GFS hinting at major torch.

Big change in models from last night.  The cold plunges more west into the Rockies now instead of spilling eastward next week.

Seems like it was only a matter of time before we end torching in this pattern.  Hopefully it's a transient shift and not something locked-in long-term.  Of course generally we still need some pretty wholesale changes to get into something more favorable.

Current conditions down here: light snow and 34F.

I'm guessing today is a non-event for the most part.  Seems a change to rain is probability.  Too warm, anyway, for much accumulating.
