I quickly took me a shower and put a pizza in the oven because I can still here trees coming down! :yikes:

My backyard thermometer says 32 and its past 8am.

nothing like pizza for breakfast.

​Woke up in Wendell around 6:15 to a freight train outside. Insane straight line winds. When the main gust came through it got rly quiet with just rain on the roof then you could hear the gust coming and it slammed the side of the building... insane  probably 50-60mph gust

It looks like the highest ice accretion yesterday and last night was in the Morganton to Marion area and north of those points.

 

It will be interesting to see KGSP's map.

Man you talk about a crazy night, I woke up at midnight to lightning and thunder, went bake to sleep till 3 to hear KABOOM!!! Transformer blew right beside my window. I-40 hwy226, 221 were closed due to stranded motorists and wrecks, 40 looked like a parking lot. Red cross opened up multiple shelters. Got right at .5 of ice, temp never got above freezing till 8:30.

.9" in the rain gauge at my grand parents in Granite Falls, foothills seem to of had a blessing in disguise with the heavy rates overnight. If precious would have been light and steady throughout then this would have been devastating.
