12:45 - Neshaminy Creek at Langhorne at 11.62', flood stage is 9'

Forecast crest has been increased to 20', would be 3rd highest on record:

22.84' - 8/19/1955

21.91' - 9/16/1999

Fortunately many of the homes located in the floodplain have been bought out or raised, Hulmeville Borough would jump out at me as being in trouble with that kind of crest.

ventured out to check Woodbury creek, at the end of the tidal section near underwood hospital where it meets stewart lake park....really meets the lake tonight....lake looks like its spilling into CVS parking lot, adjacent athletic fields flooding...roaring whitewater as the overfull lake meets the high tide of the creek....worse than the worst noreaster by a bit. Don't think I'm venturing all the way out again toniight wind was kicking up on my walk back

to me it looks like it is going to ride the coast of NJ as the NHC and many have thought. not sure who was "mongering"

we love it, but it is just weather.

I'm afraid that those who wanted or were mongering for the center to cross the coast of Jersey are going to be disappointed...

Ugh, at this point many places are on pace for 6-10 inches of rain, and winds have made it into the 40-60 range. Irene can whatever she wants. Heck, if she wants to hit East Hampton like I guessed on Wednesday, that's cool too.

By the way........nastiest sustained winds yet happening now.......power may be gone shortly.

Kinda hard to be disappointed by anything with this storm. Been rather epic so far.

As it happens, other than lots of rain, there doesn't seem to be anything all that spectacular going on right around the center anyway. Though I haven't looked at tide gauges down in MD/DE. The best winds seem to be in the outer bands. NHC even mentioned in their last discussion that the strongest winds were 100 nautical miles east of the center.

Feels (sounds) to me like highest sustained winds are occuring now. Nothing amazing, but its not calming down out there.

If I am reading this correctly, we are not only at flood stage for the Little Lehigh Creek which flows through Allentown but the highest ever according to the discharge value max of 657 cfs in 1971. We are currently at 846 cfs. Mike Gorse, has a flood warning been issued for the Little Lehigh Creek? Thanks

Never mind Mike. I have seen that you issued one at 11:00 pm Sorry
