SpartyOn
With Winter on its way out ,I thought a few us would appreciate this thread. This is the spot to post your favorite images of Winter 2011. To Start.. The DTX accumulated snowfall map for the GHD Blizzard. Though we underperformed this image will not be forgotten. This next picture is another favorite of mine. This was taken during the "surprise" Snowstorm that hit SEMI on Feb 5th..That day was a great day..thus why I look so cheesy! I thought this was an interesting picture..Taken the day after the GHD Blizzard..This was shot at 3pm in what should be a crowded suburban shopping mall..Not a soul in sight. My Wife & I used the day to photograph various "ghost-town" or snowed in areas.. To end...My favorite tree in my neighborhood..What it looks like in 1-2 inch per hour Thundersnow... Hoosier
The only thing I could post would be a Groundhog clown map showing 18" but that doesn't fall under "greatest" since it didn't verify.

baroclinic_instability
Select images from this winter. GroundHogs Storm the day before--what a sick looking phase that storm had going before ejecting that lead wave. Euro here: Octobomb--probably the sickest looking WV I have seen in years. Groundh0gs storm: IPV map of the Northern Plains blizzard that dropped 20" on MSP: Groundhogs storm as the lead IPV max was ejecting into the plains. Sick stuff:
Thundersnow12
Probably my favorite video hands down from this winter lol I think it was announced atleast 24hrs or so before the blizzard that he was coming here and the funny thing was even sports talk radio shows were talking about how its going to to happen now since Cantore is coming. Deep down the guy is weather geek just like us and this shows it

cyclone77
3 videos I took during the night of the Groundhog day blizzard. This was taken from my digital camera, so the quality sucks. I will get an actual video camera sometime later this year so I can take much higher quality vids in the future. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pN97r-JICrI
michsnowfreak
LOVE this thread! I will be making a winter summary in pictures recapping the whole winter, but will wait til April as there is still potential on the table. Still, I will post some here, a sneak preview so to speak Dec 12, 2010: 6.3" of snow lays down a winter wonderland that would remain the rest of the month, despite overall quiet weather. December 14, 2010: December was quiet after the storm, but had continuous snowcover December 16, 2010: I didnt mind the quiet December, since we had snow for Christmas January 12, 2011: Biggest snowstorm of the month drops 4.4". January 24, 2011: The clipper train chugged in full force in January January 29, 2011: Despite no major storms, very frequent snowfall in January still nickeled and dimed its way to a nice monthly total of 18" FEBRUARY 2011 .....WOW February 1, 2011: The blizzard was one of the few storms that fell short of predictions this winter, still a nice storm! February 2, 2011: two-day storm totals of 10" of snow and sleet still left a deep snowpack, and this was ONLY the beginning... CONTINUED BELOW... michsnowfreak
February 5, 2011: This was the nicest partly sunny I had ever seen!!! All 15-inches were completely covered and some (up to the screw under the word "snow") by the time the storm ended during the evening of Feb 5th. February 6/7, 2011: buried under the deepest snowpack since January 1999, as we slightly surpassed both Jan 2009 and Dec 2000 February 20, 2011: After winters only real torch destroyed the snowpack, bare ground made it barely 2 days before a surprise snowstorm dropped over 10" w/ amazing thundersnow CONTINUE BELOW.... michsnowfreak
February 21, 2011: Digout February 25, 2011: Another storm. The month finished just under 32 inches, 2nd snowiest Feb and 3rd snowiest month on record! March 6, 2011: Bare ground lasted mere hours this time, as 4.7" of snow plastered beauty following heavy rain and snowmelt March 11, 2011: Another March plaster (4.3"), which ended up being the last snowstorm SO FAR of a great 68" winter MORE DETAILED PICTORAL RECAP/SUMMARY COMING BY MID-APRIL AFTER SNOW SEASON HAS CEASED (in Photography Forum)

London snowsquall
Great images SSC. The one of the warnings from IWIN on Feb. 1 may very well have the largest geographical spread of winter storm warnings/blizzards at the same time that we will ever see in our lifetime.
